The Wog With The Grog Majolini Lunch at Ormeggio At The Spit

Josie's Juice attended a special lunch hosted by The Wog With The Grog at the much lauded hatted Sydney restaurant Ormeggio At The Spit last week, to celebrate the arrival of Simone Maiolini from the Majolini wine brand from the Northern Italian region of Lombardia.

It was a beyond-words kind of lunch - created by Ormeggio's Alessandro Pavoni and head chef Victor Moya - and we were in the company of food and wine media, all there to meet Simone, and The Wog With The Grog's Roberto Dessanti, as well as enjoy the always talked about food at Ormeggio.

The lunch showcased the impeccable wines from the family-owned and run Majolini vineyard in the famous Franciacorta region, including the just-launched 'M Series' from the brand. This special drop is about to land in Australia, and is exclusive to The Wog With The Grog.

The multi-course meal was exceptional - okay, the photos are great but it's something you need to experience to truly appreciate. Get yourself to Ormeggio, and of course ask for a bottle (or two) from the Majolini range to enjoy with your meal.

Franciacorta is both the region where the wines originate from and the term used for the method - Italy's word for France's 'champagne'.

As millions of Franciacorta devotees will attest, Italy's liquid gold is quite the drinking experience.

To buy direct from The Wog With The Grog - the consumer arm of wholesale wine and spirits merchant Euro Concepts - click here or call 1300 104 060 or see their exclusive selection at Dan Murphy's (which are available online only).

Here are some Ormeggio lunch photos - I know, you're divine.
