Italian Wine + Food Festival 2018: WIN TICKETS + What's On

The Italian Wine + Food Festival is happening on Sunday August 26!

For the first time it will be at Australian Technology Park, at Eveleigh - which is basically near Redfern station.

Here are some highlights from last year.

We are MOST excited about seeing Aldo Ortado from MasterChef 2018, who will be onstage with Roberto Dessanti, aka The Wog With The Grog, on at 11.15am - 11.45am, where Aldo will be creating a classic Roman carbonara pasta.

Also see the duo at the stand 'Little Piggy Went To Market' by Busfood, where Salumi Australia products and artisan Italian products will be plentiful for you to buy and some sampling too!

Here is more on the event, taken from the show's site:

Where is the venue?
Australian Technology Park is located approximately 5km south of the Sydney CBD, 8km north of Sydney airport and within 200m of Redfern Railway Station. The site is serviced by both Sydney Trains via Redfern Station and Sydney Buses between CBD and Marrickville Metro, as well as a dedicated cycleway. For more details visit:  http://www.doltonehouse.com.au/venue/australian-technology-park/

What are my parking options at the event?
Divvy parking is offered at Australian Technology Park, allowing you to book a parking space online, prior to arriving. Please note there is limited casual parking onsite – booking ahead is required. The entrance to the car park is from Henderson Road, Eveleigh. For information, visit the Divvy website:  https://www.divvyparking.com

What are my transport options getting to the event?
TRAIN: Sydney Trains operate frequent train services between Redfern Station (adjacent to the Australian Technology Park) and other major Sydney stations including Central, Town Hall, Wynyard and Circular Quay.

BUS: There are frequent bus services to the Australian Technology Park from the city and Sydney’s domestic and international airpo . The bus stop closest to the Australian Technology Park is on the corner of Boundary and Regent Street.

WILL THERE BE ENTRY TICKETS AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR ON THE DAY?

Alex & Co: DINING REVIEW

Alex & Co is one of the newest dining precincts in the Sydney suburb of Parramatta, and wherever you're based in Sydney, you simply must dine here!

The ambience is fantastic (insider tip: for lunch, ask for a table near the windows to enjoy your meal with the warm sun streaming on you!) and the food is exceptional.

Some snaps from our meal below - click on them to see ALL we ate. Heads up! The kid's Mac & Cheese is SO good! And the macaroni filled burger is the stuff of dreams for blokes who like BIG burgers with a side of carbs. It's called the Beef, Mac 'n' Cheese Burger which is a beef patty, bacon, cheesy macaroni, fried shallots, and tomato chutney.

I shared the full rack of BBQ pork ribs with my dining partner and OH MY GOSH it was so good. So big, and tender, on a bed of hot chips they call 'Parra Fries', with a delicious side salad of witlof, pear, and blue cheese. Such good value at $59!

Then scroll down to read the fun messaging from the venue on why they created it:

Here is the Alex & Co mission statement:

DEAR PARRAMATTA,

This  is a love letter to you for bringing us together... Only in a city as is this could we bring to life our cultured, creative & exciting vision.

Just like you, we work hard - & deserve to play hard! So, we hope you’ll agree that with YOU in mind, the space we've created paired with what we know best –  great music, mouth-watering foods, irresistible drinks & incomparable hospitality - Alex & Co. will make you feel like you've finally found the playground you've been searching for!

People keep asking who we are and where our name & theming came from. Well, here it is – during a recent inspiration trip through downtown New York, we noticed "& Co." on many of the vintage buildings & factories where you just FEEL amazing teams & families worked together, for decades, creating legacies.. We embrace that feeling & beauty of what it stands for and added it to my name .. When we look at our brand, it represents not only our work team, but you- who we dream will become part of the Alex & Co. legacy.

Our space is open-planned, spreading from the inside out, where we cater to all aspects of our day - the cafe/coffee lunch/dining areas, fully stocked bar & of course our booths, dance floor and outdoor areas where you can catch the river breeze. All areas can be sectioned off and are easily interchangeable for special functions & corporate bookings.

We’re organic in our approach and our delivery. Our team’s background is complex and while we hail from some of the finest dining establishments in Australia, we wanted to bring all our strengths to YOU, where we believe we can all enjoy together!

Our menu is sourced from Australian Local Farms, Pacific Ocean fishing boats, country fields and the wondrous meanderings of spirited travellers with passionate palates. From our full-bodied espressos to our seafood delicacies, roasted meats & unique cocktails.. this ever-evolving menu is put together FOR YOU!

We look forward to welcoming you into our home, starting & ending the day with you, sharing your intimate dinners, your special functions and events & connecting with you soon!

ALEX&Co. .. Built for you, by you..
Love,
Alex

We heart Alex & Co!
