'This Time Next Year': VIDEOS

Have you seen the promos for 'This Time Next Year'?

It looks epic, yes?

It's the new show hosted by Karl Stefanovic which skips a whole year of progress for many people of all walks of life.

Here is a preview (oh, and by the way... THIS is why Karl wore the same suit for a year! In prep for this show... clever):

Les Murray: Dead at age 71

Les Murray has died, age 71.

The SBS site 'The World Game' says he "passed away this morning following a battle with illness."

He was an Australian football icon and SBS commentator, and known as Mr Football.

Murray was a trailblazer for the game of soccer in Australia, and his voice became synonymous with soccer for Aussies.

He began work for SBS in 1980 as a Hungarian subtitle writer, before he made the move into coverage of football.
His long-time partner on air, former Socceroo Craig Foster, described Murray as "a football colossus", saying he left a lasting legacy:

AAP: Tracey Nearmy

Often his nationality was questioned, in a fun way, as he was so versatile and his pronunciations of soccer player's names were spot on. And pop culture group music group TISM released a song about this quandary:

The lyrics:

The world is full of questions, they fill me with fear
What of our beginnings? Why are we here?
Is there a purpose? Is there a God?
But one question troubles me
Far more than this lot:

What nationality is Les Murray?
Wherefore hails his ancestry?
Whom does he call the mother country
When he phones home through OTC?

Everyone is searching for the meaning of life -
Religion and politics; black versus white.
Karl Marx played on the left; Ayn Rand played on the right;
But there's a much bigger problem. It stops me sleeping at night.

Les is more. more or Les.
Les is more, but one regret:
What is the origin of his descent?

Is he from Austria? Algeria? Bahrain?
Bangladesh or Barbados? Bulgaria? Cameroon?
Is he from Chad? Chile? China?
Germany? Greece? Great Britain?
Is he from Guatemala? Guam? or Guyana?
Les is more
Haiti? Burundi? Zimbabwe?
Kampuchea? North Korea? Tanzania?
Senegal? Paraguay? Trinidad? Tuvelau? Ecuador? Uruguay?
Azerbaijan? Madagascar? Swaziland? Guadeloupe?
The song was from the album 'Machiavelli And The Four Seasons' by TISM.
RIP Les Murray. Soccer commentary in Australia will be never be the same again.

SBS has passed on their deepest sympathies to his family, including his partner Maria and his daughters Tania and Natalie. They ask that their privacy is respected during this difficult time.
"No one better embodied what SBS represents than Les Murray. From humble refugee origins, he became one Australia’s most recognised and loved sporting identities," SBS Managing Director, Michael Ebeid said in this piece.
"Not just a football icon, but a great Australian story and an inspiration to many, to say that his contribution to SBS and to football was enormous, doesn’t do it justice. This is a devastating loss for all of us at SBS. Our thoughts are with his family and all that loved him."
Here is another song featuring Les Murray... well, his epic surname pronunciations.

Except... Valentina is no longer a newborn. She's over 1 for sure, judging by this video. Clearly the series was filmed eons ago.

Here is that video, featuring Margherita, Maria's mum, and Valentina as well.

Enjoy:

You can buy it now. Just click here: https://noisehive.lnk.to/Uft6U

The track was just released last week by Heaven Studios boss Shane Monopoli, who is also Maria's uncle, and features on the show. He also owns the much advertised photographic studio Exclusive Photography.

Princess Diana: 20 Years On - VIDEOS

Princess Diana has been gone 20 years, and tributes have been plentiful for the beautiful Diana Windsor.

As you'll recall, she died 20 years ago, a victim of a tragic car accident in Paris, dying alongside her boyfriend Mohammed El Fayed.

It seems the world cried many tears for her, and two decades later, we still do.

Seeing her legacy in her sons William and Harry, we have been incredibly proud of her two sons and who they gave gone on to become, and incredibly sad to see what we see knowing her mother isn't her to enjoy it too.

Here is a clip from the recent coverage honouring Princess Diana:

And some clips from the special tonight on Australia's 'Sunday Night' program:

Shelly Beach Holiday Park: REVIEW

We love holidays of any sort, from posh hotels to camping (okay, glamping actually!) but gosh we love a cosy beachside stay, which is even more fun in winter, when the temps go down and you have to rug up, and in the cold of the night you can hear the crashing waves from your balcony while you sip hot chocolate, and in the morning, the warm sun streams in on your balcony and all is good in the world as you wander down to the beachside to enjoy a breakfast at a beachside cafe.

I have just described our family experience at Shelly Beach Holiday Park, which was quaint and lovely and a simple holiday, but also very comfy and clean and perfect, and a very bonding experience my little family of four.

The older style Shelly Beach Holiday Park is kinda like a relic from family holidays you likely had in your youth. So, the older style cabins are there and caravans too, for budget style accomodation, but if you're okay with the basics for sleeping arrangement, you're still only a minute drive away from what Josie's Juice thinks is one of the very best beaches in NSW, Toowoon Bay.

In this 'hood, you can do as much or as little as you like. Go for a swim at the nearby beach, get some good family time in, and go for that bushwalking stint you've been saying you will do, or enjoy a round of golf at nearby Shelly Beach Golf Club.

Shelly Beach Caravan Park is located away from all main roads and is fully enclosed, making it safe for kids to ride their bikes and scooters in the closed precinct.

And coming soon to Shelly Beach Caravan Park is the new water play area and swimming pool...

For a stint of shopping you can head to Bateau Bay Square only three minutes away.

Or go to The Entrance town centre only 3kms away for the renowned daily pelican feeding. The Pelican Feed takes place on The Entrance waterfront at 3.30pm each day and is one of the Central Coast's most popular tourist attractions, which is rather entertaining, educating visitors and residents alike about the area’s own pelican colony.

Or, hire a charter boat, visit one of the nearby clubs or take a surfing lesson! Or go ten pin bowling, the Amazement Farm and Fun Park, or have a shared family meal at Mingara Recreation Club.

For more info on Central Coast, go here.

For more info on Shelly Beach Caravan Park, go HERE.

We stayed in the newly renovated room with a lovely new bathroom downstairs, and clean and comfortable amenities and beds. There is also a camper's kitchen nearby, but no pets allowed at Shelly Beach Caravan Park. There are also 'beach view cabins', while we stayed in the 'ocean view cabins'.

Here are more photos from our mini family adventure! We can highly recommend Shelly Beach Holiday Park a fun family getaway with all your creature comforts and close to all the elements to make it memorable.

Soothe: Massage To You + WIN + Discount Code

Soothe is the world’s largest and fastest-growing on-demand massage service, and has now arrived in Sydney and Melbourne.

Now, okay... massages.

HOW often have you had them and vow to always have them now regularly, like always, always, always.

But, nope.

Never happens. Until six or 12 months later and you vow the same thing, again.

What stops you from indulging in life's simple pleasure of receiving touch?

For me, and I am sure for many, it's time, distance, time, time, time.

Who has the time to commit to leaving work and deciding that yes, I will relax, yes I will submit to just switching off?

I am sure I am not alone when I saw this is a modern day indictment.

And so, why not get them to come to you?

Genius idea! THIS is the service Soothe provides.

And, it's already a huge success overseas, so now the Aussie clientele gets to benefit.

With the addition of Sydney and Melbourne, Soothe now services 53 cities across the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and Australia. Soothe brings vetted, certified

massage therapists to one’s home, office, or hotel in as little as one hour.

Josie's Juice was lucky to have a one hour deep tissue massage in the comfort of the workplace. AND: readers can WIN a massage here... see details below.

AND, readers can take advantage of a discount offer.

Simply choose a massage of any kind on the Soothe massage menu, enter this code JOSIEJ20 and a $20 discount will apply to that massage of any length and kind! YESSS!

It was in a separate room of my choice, with my awesome massage therapist Christina. She came upstairs, set up the room, and made my space her space, and I felt completely relaxed in my own environment.

She revealed that she's been asked to do massages in all sorts of places, but late night hotel massages are popular. Imagine, you're in an unfamiliar city, and you'd really like to give those muscles some relief after flying or work meetings all day.

Book the massage on the Soothe app, within the operating hours (it operates between 8am and 10pm, 7 days a week) and voila, your massage is delivered to you, and no money needs to exchange hands. It's booked and paid for at time of booking.

Here is the Soothe app: CLICK HERE.

Josie's Juice highly recommends Soothe. There's nothing else to know except... book it. You won't regret it, and you may just finally fulfil that commitment to yourself that you WILL relax regularly.

Here is a pic of my experience:

A post shared by Josie Gagliano (@josiegags) on

“We’re pleased to serve the residents of Sydney, Melbourne, their surrounding areas,
and their visitors,” says Soothe’s Founder and CEO Merlin Kauffman. “Everyone
deserves to have a massage after a long day at the office or while on vacation, either as
a gift to oneself or to another.”

Soothe offers deep tissue, Swedish, sports, and prenatal massages between the hours
of 8 am and midnight daily, for singles or couples. Massages are fixed-price per person,
and Soothe covers tips, which is very much a US thing to do, but it's good for Aussie clients to know.

“Our growth is really due to the experience our massage therapists deliver,” adds
Kauffman. “They provide spa-quality treatments without the hassle of finding parking or
dealing with traffic. In addition, our massage therapists earn two to three times more
than the industry standard. Soothe is extremely proud to provide flexible work
opportunities for therapists.”

Kauffman created the company in 2013 while at Harvard Business School, a period
when he was frequently travelling, and found it difficult to schedule a massage
appointment outside standard business hours. What started as a solution to his own
problem, however, has grown into a flourishing business, with the number of certified
massage therapists on the platform having tripled since last year.

Soothe currently has a network of over 9,000 certified massage therapists globally. All
Soothe massage therapists have been interviewed in-person and only therapists who
meet the requisite level of certification and have a history of customer excellence are
accepted into the Soothe network.

Clients can book a Soothe massage by downloading the iOS or Android app
(soothe.com/app).

Prices for massages are:

- $99 + GST for 60 minutes
- $145 + GST for 90 minutes
- and $185 + GST for 120 minutes

Clients may choose the type of massage, the treatment length, and the therapist’s
gender. Those who are unable to download the app can book via soothe.com, or call
1800.838.276 from within Australia, 800.960.7668 from within the US and Canada, or
808 178 0086 from within the U.K. All three booking options are available 24/7.

Netflix 'Me Time': 'Stream Team' Blogger Trip

What is Netflix 'Me Time'?

You know the time when the kiddies go to bed and you sink into the couch and have that remote with that golden 'Netfix' button ALL TO YOURSELF?

Yeah, that.

But Netflix 'Me Time' and the ensuing nirvana that comes with it need not only apply to mammas and papas.

Nope.

That peaceful state we all strive for in our personal lives is when we are completely and utterly alone and in a zen like state often comes when, well to be totally frank and all non filter style, left the hell alone.

I kinda feel like this state is one step up from 'Netflix and Chill', and a notch down from wrangling the remote from screaming mini me people.

So when I was invited to the epic Netflix 'Me Time' event in Melbourne recently I could not resist. A flight away and hotel away from the fam bam (*I love them eternally, but hanging with like minded lady and man friends who write was irresistible) and talking all things Netflix AND getting a preview on what's happening in the world of Netflix programming... well I was so there.

What came next was an elevate state of Netflix 'Me Time'.

Those clever PR folks KNOW what to do.

A flash hotel in Melbourne (the QT, if you don't mind, and they soon after won a best hotel award), converting a warehouse-y space a short cab ride away from Melbourne's CBD into a dining and viewing experience.

That night (ironically, hot on the heels of an 'Orange Is The New Black' next season leak) we saw a preview of said 'OITNB' new season, the truly fabulous new series 'Glow' (such a clever and funny and original story line, and it took me a little while to realise it was my girl crush Alison Brie in the main role), and I fell in love with the new and original series 'Gypsy' (Naomi Watts is sensational and engaging in it).

AND: these lights, just like 'Stranger Things'... so cool:

Such a fantastic night with the @netflixanz and @netflix teams! The fab - and I do mean REALLY fab and enthusiastic and switched on - #netflix #USA people looked after us #bloggers so much, as did the fantastic crew from their Aussie #PR team. It culminated with a sensational event at @two_ton_max where we enjoyed all new #netflixanz programming which we can't talk about just yet, but... you guys, you gotta get @netflixanz - @jordssyd pictured here with me, well we go way, way back in #journo #publicist world, and what top company he was. We were also the two red wine 🍷 aficionados and shared a few glasses 😍👌🍷🙊🎉#josiesjuice #blog proud to be a #streamteam #blogger #netflixmetime oh and my dress 👗 was an impulse purchase from @hm #bourkestreetmall. I had, oh, four different options for the event but saw this and had to have it. I think it looks very #Missoni but #shhh it's under $60. #bikerjacket from @forevernew_official bought last year 👌#strangerthings #letters 🙃😮
A post shared by Josie Gagliano (@josiegags) on

So what does Netflix 'Me Time' mean to you?

In a world which has evolved from 'cocooning' at home (I remember when I was deputy editor for a magazine when this word was coined and we were fascinated by it) to having it be totally acceptable to say you are an extrovert with introvert tendencies, or laugh and share and agree with memes that say you can lie about being busy and cancel plans at the last minute and you are not a mean person (I don't agree with this... manners, please), Netflix 'Me Time' is such a validating, totally okay concept and persona to adopt.

Why is Netflix 'Me Time' SO important?

Well, I am not a clinical psychologist or a psych of any sort but I do know that recharge time, whether it's solo, or with the kids where you can explain shows and age appropriate docos and kiddie-centric movies together, is super HUGE and essential to one's mind for mental health.

Should it be a cheeky, sneaky activity done in private only?

I am all for some behaviours being private.

But proudly showing off or certainly not concealing that you're a dedicated Netflix aficionado is never a bad thing, I promise you.

Don't have Netflix yet?

Well you can do something about it immediately. Click RIGHT HERE.

Oh, and enjoy this very excellent infographic. I LOVE this:

And this:

New Netflix data has revealed that for mothers, sneaking is the new bingeing and they’ll go to great lengths to stream their favourite shows while no one is looking. According to the research after becoming a mum, women quickly embrace putting their kids first and time for themselves goes out the window. Three quarters of mums admit to sneaking in TV “me-time” while multitasking or actually hiding from their kids at least 1-3 times a day. Nowhere is off limits - from spending extra time on the “potty” to hiding in the pantry or wardrobe , or sitting in the car in the parking lot.

Key Netflix findings include:

  • 46% of Mums admit that they try to sneak in TV “me time” at least 1 to 3 times a day in order to watch their favourite or must-watch Netflix shows.
    • Some of the most common ways that mums sneak in some TV “me time” are while:
      • Cleaning around the house (57%),
      • Lying in bed (55%)
      • Cooking (48%)
      • Doing their hair or makeup (28%)
  • When Mums think about the benefits that they get from having some TV “me time” for themselves, the benefits that are most important to them include:
§  To get a break from daily routine (66%)
§  To feel less stressed (55%)

§  To feel more refreshed (37%)

All this means to me is... treat yoself to Netflix, stat.

Affordable, pleases the whole family, and SOOO much on trend content.

More stats, specially on the shows mum watch and why they watch their special 'Mum Sneak' shows.

4 in 5 mums (80%) agree that watching more of their must-watch TV shows makes them feel more “in touch” with pop culture and gives them more to talk about with friends and co-workers (other than just talking about their kids), and nearly a quarter even feel that they can be a better parent by de-stressing. When you become a mamma, life is NOT over, people. It's just beginning. And, you want to stay in the loop on all that's happening in pop culture world. Hey, why do you think Josie's Juice was started...

If you have to lock the bathroom doors in the morning and make your husband watch the kids while you “finish getting ready” aka continue your G.L.O.W. binge -- more power to you, because other mums want to do the same, and you shouldn’t feel guilty for it!
