PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals) have released a new ‘public service announcement’ video which shows a split screen of two couples having sex. One man is identified as a meat-eater, the other is a vegan.
The premise: that vegans last longer:

The ad intends to warn of the dangers of eating foods high in cholesterol, such as meat, eggs and dairy products.
The ad has seemingly been deemed too raunchy for television, and it hasn’t been picked up for inclusion in the upcoming Super Bowl broadcast in the US.
“We did try to submit the ad last fall but we didn’t get a response from the executives at CBS,” a spokeswoman told The Huffington PostPETA has since capitalised on the silence from CBS claiming the ad “left TV execs speechless”.
The ad was rejected for television broadcast, but the organisation posted it on YouTube on Monday. It’s since racked up over 600,000 views - at last count.
PETA Senior Vice President Lisa Lange said in a statement: “Super Bowl 50 audiences will be missing out on comedy, sex appeal, and the lifesaving message that vegan meals can help clear clogged-up carnivores and get their blood pumping again.
“PETA’s edgy but crowd-pleasing TV spot shows that vegans may have a banana in their pyjama pocket, just to snack on later, but they’re also really pleased to see you.”

'UnREAL' TV show: SBS 2 - screen details, VIDEO

This will be on free to air! 'UnREAL' - the show about the reality TV dating shows. I am looking at YOU, 'The Bachelor', 'The Bachelorette', et al.

Currently teasing us with its fabulousness on Australian pay TV portal Stan, it's finally on a  channel you don't have to pay for. Yay!

Here is the trailer:

Says the press release:

Ever wondered what went on after cameras stop rolling on your favourite reality TV show? Well leave your conscience at the door as SBS 2’s new hit U.S. drama bares all to expose the reality part of reality TV.

Premiering Monday 22 February at 8.30pm on SBS 2UnREAL goes behind the scenes and under the sheets as it reveals what happens when TV producers are encouraged by cash bonuses to manipulate contestants to make seriously good TV.

Everlasting is the hit U.S. reality show where one hot bachelor gets his pick from over a dozen of the country’s most eligible and attractive single women. Sounds like a simple and romantic concept and one we’ve seen many times over. The catch? A young producer by the name of Shiri Appleby (played by Rachel Goldberg) whose sole job is to manipulate her relationships with and among the contestants to get the vital dramatic and outrageous footage that the program’s dispassionate executive producer, Quinn King (Constance Zimmer), demands. What unfolds is an eye-opening look at what happens in the outrageous world of unscripted television, where being a contestant can be vicious and producing it is a whole other reality, showing that bad people make good T.V.

The hit series also stars Craig Bierko as Everlasting’s eccentric creator, Chet, whose relationship with the show’s executive producer gets overly complicated, and Freddie Stroma as the dating show’s handsome and intelligent English suitor, Adam Cromwell. Josh Kelly plays Jeremy, a cameraman who is Rachel’s ex-boyfriend, while Siobhan Williams is Lizzie, Jeremy’s current fiancĂ©e and on-set makeup artist.

Everlasting’s contestants include Grace, portrayed by Nathalie Kelley, who instantly wins Adam’s heart; Anna, played by Johanna Braddy, who is classy and shrewd, with her eye on the prize; Faith, a sensitive and vulnerable tomboy from America’s South portrayed by Breeda Wool; and Mary, played by Ashley Scott, a gorgeous single mum of one who has been unlucky in love.

As a HUGE fan of 'The Bachelor' (what!? So I've watched every series, American and Australian, and totally watched the first US 'The Bachelorette' wedding of Trista and Ryan), I say bring it on!

UnREAL airs Monday 22 February at 8.30pm on SBS 2.

Here is how Ellen intro'ed UnREAL in a clip on reality TV (all the clips on here are bloody hilarious!):

Gordian Fulde: Senior Australian of the Year 2016

Professor Gordian Fulde, who is the the longest-serving head of an emergency department in Australia, has been named the Senior Australian of the Year for 2016.

What a fantastic choice!

Says the SMH article:

His three decades in charge at St Vincent's and Sydney Hospital count for more than that, considering the inner-city hospital is on the front line of Sydney's sometimes infamous nightlife and treats more than its fair share of bashing victims, drug addicts and homeless.

"As a young person would say, 'OMG'," Professor Fulde said, accepting the award.

"But ... it's really not about me. What it is about is us as a community."

Fulde has also been a tireless campaigner via media interviews on drug education and the topic of alcohol abuse.

And now, we have a recipe from the fab Justine Schofield:

'My dream burger'

Says Justine: "I definitely classify myself as a burger connoisseur. If I could I would eat everyday! Well almost. Hahaha.

"For me a burger must include two types of sauces, the bun should be soft and ideally not brioche. The meat must be of the best quality and cheese is must."

Makes: six

Prep: 10 minutes Cook:  10-15 minutes

1kg minced beef (the best quality you can afford that still has a little fat or ask your butcher to mince you some chuck steak)

6 baby cos lettuce leaves

6 slices of canned beetroot (optional)

1 large tomato sliced in to 6 rounds

6 slices good quality melting cheese

5 tbs. whole egg mayonnaise

5 tbs. tomato sauce

4 tbs. American mustard

2 large pickles sliced into thin rounds

6 very soft burger buns

Salt and pepper

1 tbs. olive oil

Place the cold mince straight from the fridge into a bowl and season with generously with salt and pepper. Divide into 6 even balls and flatten out between baking paper to make 6 even patties.

Pre heat the grill element in the oven. Split the burger buns in half and place on a tray ready to toast.

Heat a large pan (or barbeque) to medium high heat.  Add a little oil and grill the burgers on each side for 2 minutes or to your liking. In the last 30 seconds add the cheese to the meat so it starts to melt.

To assemble the burgers: toast the buns under the grill. Add a dollop of each sauce on the top and base of the bun. Add the burger patty then the pickles, lettuce, beetroot and tomato slices.

Mariah Carey and James Packer Engaged: Ring PHOTO

Global superstar singer Mariah Carey, and one of the globe's richest businessmen James Packer are engaged.

E! News has exclusively learned that Mariah is engaged to the Australian billionaire after a fairytale romance - all seven months' worth of courtship.

AP Photo/Kin Cheung

According to E! News James 'popped the question' in her hometown last night US time, and he presented her with "what can only be described as the most breathtaking engagement ring", the report says.

It continues:

We're told that Mariah's new diamond bling comes in at around 35 carats and that no wedding date has been set just yet.

It should come as no surprise James got down on one knee for the multi-Grammy Award winner. Their love affair began just under a year ago and from the moment they started dating, "they fell head over heels in love with one another, " says an insider. "It's crazy how perfect they are together, they both know it and couldn't be happier."

The couple went public with their relationship in June 2015, after they were seen on holiday together in Italy and pap shots surfaced of them strolling hand in hand.

James is 47, and is Australia's fourth-richest person, according to Forbes, with a fortune estimated to exceed A$4.7bn (US $3.1bn, £2.3bn).
Mariah Carey is 45, and is one of the biggest selling artists of all time.
This will be the third marriage for both. Mariah is mother to four year-old twins, son Moroccan Cannon and daughter Monroe Cannon, with ex husband Nick Cannon.
Mariah announced her break-up from 'America's Got Talent' host Nick in 2014.
She was previously married to Sony executive Tommy Mottola.
James has three children: Indigo, 7, Jackson, 5 and Emmanuelle, 3, with his second wife, model and singer Erica Baxter, from whom he split in 2013.
James's first marriage was to model and fashion designer Jodhi Meares, who was known as Jodie Meares when they married.
THE RING! It's right here... TMZ has the shots - and the VIDEO!

According to TMZ:

It all went down in NYC -- where Packer secretly rounded up a bunch of Mariah's close friends for a private dinner at Eleven Madison Park ... so he could get down on one knee and propose in front of the most special people in her life.

Gay Men Touch Vagina For The First Time: VIDEO

Um... I don't make these videos, I just report on them. Don't look at me.

Actually, this now viral video is the next in a series of videos from lesbian duo Bria and Chrissy, and they have the world talking. Watch this one below, and the click on links below for more...

Say the creators BriaAndChrissy:

Men are allowed more sexual freedom than women. In our society, when a man has sex he's "the man," a woman has sex she's a slut. We expected a lot of backlash for this video, it will be interesting to see if this video gets the same attention as the "lesbians touch Penis" video since there are female genitals (and a topic about females as a whole) instead of a male genitals. What are your thoughts?

Here are the others from this series:

I WILL warn you, though... if you watch the above video on YouTube, it'll immediately assume you want to watch all sortsa 'interesting' videos... tutorials and 'educational' videos. Don't say I didn't tell you.

“It’s Your World Now”
Written by Glenn Frey and Jack Tempchin
From the Eagles’ Long Road Out of Eden album
A perfect day, the sun is sinkin’ low
As evening falls, the gentle breezes blow
The time we shared went by so fast
Just like a dream, we knew it couldn’t last
But I’d do it all again
If I could, somehow
But I must be leavin’ soon
It’s your world now
It’s your world now
My race is run
I’m moving on
Like the setting sun
No sad goodbyes
No tears allowed
You’ll be alright
It’s your world now
Even when we are apart
You’ll always be in my heart
When dark clouds appear in the sky
Remember true love never dies
But first a kiss, one glass of wine
Just one more dance while there’s still time
My one last wish: someday, you’ll see
How hard I tried and how much you meant to me
It’s your world now
Use well your time
Be part of something good
Leave something good behind
The curtain falls
I take my bow
That’s how it’s meant to be
It’s your world now
It’s your world now
It’s your world now

Of course, one of the most renowned songs of The Eagles is Hotel California, the title track from the Eagles' album of the same name, and was released as a single in February 1977. Writing credits for the song are shared by Don Feller (music), Don Henley, and Glenn Frey (lyrics).

RIP Glenn.
