Lorna Jane: activewear meets charity

Australian women’s activewear brand Lorna Jane has just launched an initiative offering its customers the opportunity to give to charity and get Lorna Jane store credit in return.

Lorna Jane is offering women $5 store credit at all Lorna Jane locations for every piece of pre-loved activewear they donate.

Lorna Jane Clarkson, the company's founder and head designer, said Swap Shop has been established in an effort to get women active and support The Salvation Army with the supply of pre-loved exercise wear.

Since Swap Shop debuted on 21 January, Lorna Jane customers have donated over 5500 items of pre-loved exercise wear in exchange for pieces from Lorna Jane’s on-trend active collections.

"It is fantastic to see so many Australians digging deep in their wardrobes and donating their workout gear to our fellow Australians in need," said Ms Clarkson.

"Swap Shop will continue in Lorna Jane stores nationwide, with every thoughtfully exchanged piece of pre-loved exercise wear donated in view to changing someone's life."

Customers are encouraged to donate their washed exercise gear of any brand to a Lorna Jane store in exchange for a five dollar store credit per item (maximum of 3 items exchanged per customer, per transaction). All donated items will continue to be sent to the Salvation Army.

And tonight, Aussie TV will premiere Kourtney and Kim Take New York - starting on Tuesday, February 1 at 9.30pm on E!

In the premiere episode, Kourtney and Kim arrive in New York City ready to get to work on the construction and opening of their third DASH store.

However, the sisters are a bit overwhelmed when they learn that things aren't going according to plan. Meanwhile, Kourtney is thrilled to have Scott (y'know, her baby daddy) join her in his home state, and contemplates having him move into her hotel suite, much to Kim's chagrin (sister bitchslaps, perhaps?)

But single Kim is excited to get a romance of her own started - just how many frogs will she kiss?

It'll be fab to finally see Scott get a modicum of respect from the Kardashian clan... or will they?

In it, Drew Barrymore opens up about her on again, off again love life.

I have always loved Marie Claire's celebrity interview coverlines. They are always so clever, to the point, enticing.

This one: "It's my choice to be single" pulls me right in. There is nothing like an empowered single woman and that Ms Barrymore certainly is.

Of course, the promise of a winter 2011 fashion round-up sucks me right in, too. Winter? What? Who can think about that with these scorching Aussie temps? But in my experience, every March issue with a new season fashion preview always whets my appetite and makes me crave the cooler months so I can pull on some new season boots or the latest must-have I had no idea I even wanted. I always refer back to the issue in, oh, about July and know that those folks at MC were seriously, scarily on-trend.

Cougar Town: Jennifer Aniston stars as Courteney Cox's therapist

Just as Lisa Kudrow guested on Cougar Town, tonight’s season two premiere of the comedy series will feature Courteney Cox's (Jules) real life bestie - and walking headline - Jennifer Aniston.

Playing Jules's therapist, Jen's character counsels her through the early trials of her new relationship with Grayson (Josh Hopkins). Aniston’s character is a bit of a know-it-all who may be hiding her own dark secrets.

I will be tuning in. As cheesy as Friends was, I did not miss a single ep way back then (and gee that canned laughter is obvious - and annoying - now that I watch re-runs). I look forward to seeing the actresses onscreen together again for the first time since TV show Dirt (missed it? So did plenty).

The second season of Cougar Town has received better reviews than the first in the US... here's to hoping it stays onscreen here.
