Avicii dead at age 28

In very sad news, Artist, DJ, and producer Tim Bergling, a.k.a. Avicii ed Friday afternoon in Oman, according to a statement from his rep. He was 28.

“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii,” the statement reads. “He was found dead in Muscat, Oman this Friday afternoon local time, April 20th. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given.”

Avicii was one of the most popular and successful electronic dance-music artists of all time.

He achieved a No. 4 hit on the Billboard 200 in 2013 with “Wake Me Up” and he regularly appeared in the Top 5 of Forbes’ “Highest-Paid DJs” lists.

Avicii retired from live performing in 2016 at the peak of his success, citing health reasons. He had suffered from health problems for several years, including acute pancreatitis, in part due to excessive drinking. He had his gallbladder and appendix removed in 2014.

He posted the following statement on his website last year:

“WE ALL REACH A POINT IN OUR LIVES AND CAREERS WHERE WE UNDERSTAND WHAT MATTERS THE MOST TO US.

For me it’s creating music. That is what I live for, what I feel I was born to do.

Last year I quit performing live, and many of you thought that was it. But the end of live never meant the end of Avicii or my music. Instead, I went back to the place where it all made sense – the studio.

The next stage will be all about my love of making music to you guys. It is the beginning of something new.

Hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I do.”

Avicii was born in Stockholm on September 8, 1989. He began DJing as a teenager and released his first single in 2007. He released a large number of singles and remixes in the following years and quickly built a reputation as a live act.

His 2010 hit “Seek Bromance” charted in several European countries and he signed a publishing deal with EMI the same year.

His name? He explained his chosen DJ name as “the lowest level of Buddhist hell,” chosen because his real name was already being used by another Tim Bergling on MySpace.

Khloe Kardashian names baby girl

Khloe Kardashian and her partner Tristan Thompson have chosen a name for their baby girl.

The child was born last week, and today the couple revealed the name:

John Stamos: First Child Born PHOTO

John Stamos has had his first child: at age 54.

He and actress Caitlin McHugh, 32, married in February after popping the question at Disneyland last October.

"From now on, the best part of me will always be my wife and my son," Stamos wrote. "Welcome Billy Stamos (named after my father) #NotJustanUncleAnymore #Overjoyed."

'Employable Me': ABC TV show TRAILER + FULL SHOW link

The 'Employable Me' series is as breathtaking as it is honest and is the best TV I have seen in a very long time.



Okay, so I have an ulterior motive to watch this show: my son is autistic and is age 10, and I always like to imagine what he'd be like as a young adult, working and facing the sometimes cruel world we live in, and a society that is not so accepting of those who are, in the words of preeminent autistic professor and legend Temple Grandin: "different, not less."

The show started on ABC TV on April 3 and is on Tuesdays at 8.30pm - the last ep is tonight, and I highly recommend you seek it out on IView.

It's a three-part documentary series adapted from an English format which profiles nine people with disabilities trying to find a job – it is exceptional filmmaking and so moving and heartwarming.

Each episode follows three people on their job hunting journey.

People profiled have: autism, Tourette Syndrome, and obsessive compulsive disorder, and Fragile X syndrome.

The show presents a case for us all to look beyond people's conditions to see them for who they are: often gifted, vulnerable, endearing, wonderful, and, in this case, self aware of their conditions and lot in life.

Australian Test cricket batsman Usman Khawaja has remarried his sweetheart Rachel McLellan, one week ago, and here are the first pics.  

The couple were legally wed in a self-described 'Big White Wedding' - but in the eyes of Allah, they were already married.

Their Imam performed a traditional Muslim commitment ceremony called a 'Nikkah' last year, which allowed the couple to live together. See that pic below:

Rachel revealed on her Instagram that Khawaja had proposed in New York where the couple spent a week following Australia's victory in the ODI tri-series final.

"New York was even better than I expected, Uzzy asked me to marry him and of course I said yes! Can't wait to spend my life with this guy," McLellan wrote.
