Eurovision Semi-Final Two breaks record: most successful SBS Eurovision broadcast ever

The ​Eurovision semi-final two has broken the record as most successful SBS Eurovision broadcast ever.

Last night the SBS broadcast of semi-final two of the 60^th Eurovision Song Contest attracted a combined average metro and regional audience of 880,000 and a peak audience of 1,074,000, making it the highest ever recorded audience for a Eurovision broadcast on SBS.

The second semi-final had an average metro audience of 639,000, peaking at 755,000 and an average regional audience of 241,000, peaking at 319,000.

The second semi-final also recorded a metro free to air share for Total People of 17.2% and 12.8% for regional. People 16-39 recorded a 24.4% share (metro) and 11.4% (regional). People 18-49 recorded a 22.2% (metro) and 13.6% (regional). People 25-54 recorded a 19.7% share (metro) and 13.8%(regional).

The broadcast of the second semi-final also saw a lift in audience, year on year, with a 7.7% growth in Total People for metro plus regional audiences.

The annual event, hosted by Julia Zemiro and b, reached a combined metro and
regional audience of 1,837,000 for Total People, and was the number one most watched show for People 16-39 and People 18-49 (metro). It was also the second most-watched program for People 25-54 (metro) and ranked number three for OG1s (metro).

Last night the hash tag #SBSEurovision was once again trending at number one in Australia and number seven worldwide on Twitter, peaking at a phenomenal 700 tweets per minute.

Eurovision 2015, Eurovision, Eurovision's Greatest Hits and Eurovision Song Contest 2015 have served a total of 179,000 Online Video Chapter Views to 83,000 Unique Browsers in May 2015 to date. This includes all video episodes, clips and interviews associated with the program. At the time of reporting,Eurovision 2015 ranked number 2 most watched Entertainment program for May 2015 to date with 79,000 Video Chapter Views.

Eurovision, which includes Semi Final 1 and Semi Final 2 video episodes, served 70,000 Video Chapter Views to 28,000 Unique Browsers. The Eurovision Song Contest 2015, which includes the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 promo video, served 9,000 Video Chapter Views.

Eurovision 2015: Australia remains the most watched video episode of Eurovision 2015, serving 19,000 Video Chapter Views, followed by Eurovision's Greatest Hits with 14,000 Video Chapter Views.

Eurovision 2015 marks the first time in Eurovision history Australia has been invited to compete in the contest with wild card entrant Guy Sebastian to perform in celebration of 60 years of Eurovision.

Australia’s performance by multi-talented singer and ARIA Award winner Guy Sebastian will feature during the grand final tonight Sunday May 24 from 7.30pm on SBS ONE.

Ireland votes 'Yes' for gay marriage

In sensational news in, Ireland has voted 'Yes' for gay marriage.

In one of the largest turnouts in a referendum in Ireland, 62 percent of voters said 'Yes' - making Ireland the first country to adopt same-sex marriage via a popular vote.

The landslide is fantastic news, considering Ireland is a traditionally Catholic country that only decriminalised homosexuality two decades ago. Yes.

The Grand Final aired live on Sunday at 5am on SBS, and will then be repeated at 7.30 Sunday night.

Tea With Jules: Guy Sebastian, Sally Obermeder, Samantha Jade, Pip Edwards + Rae Morris

In a series of interviews with Jules Sebastian, where she has tea and chats with the interview subject of her choice (called 'Tea With Jules'), Jules decides it's time to interview the most obvious person of all: her husband Guy Sebastian.

After a teaser was released last night, the full version is now on YouTube, with mixed reaction on social media.

'The Bachelorette' US: Ryan McDill + Nick Viall

A new season of 'The Bachelorette' has just broadcast in the US, and it's, well, very different for many reasons.

One - it's the first time the show has featured TWO 'Bachelorettes' (yep) vying for the attention (oh dear) of a big group of not-at-all fame hungry guys.

But this season has also has its share of controversies already.

First up, this guy.

Ryan McDill.

The 28-year-old "junkyard specialist" tried to grab on of the girls - Britt Nilsson - on her face for an impromptu smooch and slap the other woman, Kaitlyn Bristowe on the behind, and then he took a drunken dip in the pool, ruined another man's entrance, and then… threatened to "rape" one of his fellow contestants. Jay-sus.

Before things could get even worse, The Bachelorette host and executive producer Chris Harrison asked McDill to leave the mansion and the dating competition series for good.

Less than 24 hours after his humiliating Bachelorette debut, McDill responded to the wave of  bad publicity.

"I wanted to go on [the show] for the experience and everything," McDill told ET. "I wasn’t interested in Kaitlyn, but was interested in Britt. I felt it was obvious Britt wasn’t going to be the one, so I just started being entertaining and got way to drunk started acting crazy and it turned into gold."

"I know people are hating on the rape comment but that was completely taken out of context," McDill said. "Although a poor choice of words, all I meant was that I should have beat him up."

Bachelor fans will recognise Andi Dorfman from her turn as a Bachelorette, and one her suitors (gosh, I can't believe I even used that word) Nick Viall, might be (*definitely will be) coming to the competition to woo the next Bachelorette.

So could we expect to see Viall entering the mansion soon? "If that's true, that would be one of the most dramatic moments ever," Harrison answers, in what is a PR's dream answer.

And then, after the first ep screened in the US, Kaitlyn Bristowe was already being put in the hot seat.

On Tuesday night's episode, viewers saw an extended promo for this season revealed that she slept with one of her suitors weeks before the "fantasy suite" stage of the dating competition.

Bristowe sat with ET's Nancy O'Dell to talk about why she's "not ashamed" of what was caught on the Bachelorette cameras.

"I don’t think that's a crazy thing to sleep with somebody when you're trying to be in a relationship with them," she said. "I'm a 30-year-old woman and I make my own decisions and intimacy to me is a part of every relationship and I don’t know why everyone is so shocked by it. It's 2015."

"I'm an in-the-moment kind of person," she added. "I tried to compartmentalize each relationship and be present with each guy, and some went faster than others and some went slower than others."

"I'm not ashamed of it -- I just regret the timing. But I'm also not afraid to talk about it," she said. "I don’t really have a problem talking about that kind of thing. I think when you're looking for a lifetime partnership, intimacy is obviously a part of that. I think maybe I'm just the first Bachelor or Bachelorette to talk about that on TV."

And the connection with ex-Bachelor Nick? Bristowe's impromptu hook-up was - but we can't really be sure - with Nick. G.A.S.P.

David Letterman's Last Opening Monologue: VIDEO

The blurb on the video says that he "reveals a new Las Vegas act and gets send-offs from "The Simpsons" and "Wheel of Fortune" in his last Late Show monologue."

The 68 year old host has been hosting the show for 33 years, and will be handing the reins to comedian Stephen Colbert.

The last show featured no sit-down guest interviews, instead playing clips spanning his 33-year career, all the way back to his 1980s morning show on NBC.

The top names turned up for one of Letterman's signature bits, the nightly Top 10 list, with the final one entitled 'Top 10 Things I've Always Wanted to Say to Dave', with Bill Murray, Jerry Seinfeld, Jim Carrey and Alec Baldwin taking part.

David observed that he had done more than 6000 shows, then added that physicist Stephen Hawking had calculated "It works out to about eight minutes of laughter".
