All Women are Unique: Pandora - VIRAL VIDEO

There is a new viral video from renewed jewellery brand Pandora that moved me - yes, it made me cry (darn it, I couldn't help it!).

Called 'All Women are Unique', the YouTube video is described as:

As a small experiment of women’s uniqueness and the special bond between a mother and child, we met up with 6 wonderful women, and asked them to let us blindfold their most precious loved ones. Their children!

How we did it:
The children were guided towards the group of women, and using their senses and intuition asked to try to find the one they believed to be their mother. Anxiety, love and a bit of heartfelt tears filled the room as children from the age of 3-9 tried and succeed in finding the one and only they could call mum!

All women are unique in shape, personality and heart, and so is the beautiful connection and precious love we saw this day.

Celebrate the woman in your heart - visit: www.pandora.net

(Music: “Staircase” by Dan Leighs, musync.com)

The blurb for the video is equally emotive:

Her scent, her touch, her smile. If we close our eyes, chances are we could recall every little detail of the first woman in our lives: Mum.

This Mother’s Day, PANDORA is celebrating that unique bond between mother and child with an emotional, life-affirming new short film. The film shows the answer to a single question: could children recognise their own mother without actually seeing her?

Six women and their children decided to put that to the test. No actors, no staging, no spin. One by one, each child was blindfolded and asked to pick their mother out of a group of women – using senses other than sight. Each mum waited anxiously, watching her child tentatively feel their way, carefully searching for something familiar in a room of strangers.

Here is the video - try not to shed a little tear:

Blossom Copenhagen jewellery: reader giveaway - one to WIN!

Accesories and I - we go way back. And I don't think there is a single piece of jewellery I have met which I don't like. I make anything work.

As a newcomer to Baswelworld (the world watch and jewellery show), Blossom Copenhagen has focused on creating a unique collection based on designer Christina Lihn’s peception of life.

“I am a true romantic and I design jewellery for women who love a feminine touch. My favourite symbol is the heart, and that is the focal point of the entire collection”, says Christina Lihn, who has been in the jewellery business most of her life. Her career started at the Danish lifestyle brand Georg Jensen, and she has now created her own jewellery.

The jewellery is designed with a great 'zest for life', and there is a strong connection between patterns and shapes for all designs - just as the main collection is divided into a number of small collections each with their own little story.

“It has been my clear intention to enable the choice of personal additions such as wearing the same pendant on a bracelet or in a chain. So I am proud to present a collection where the focus is on the individual expression,” and “where a woman truly shows her feminine sides,” says Christina.

And so, feast your eyes on these beautiful Blossom Copenhagen pieces below... below I reveal how you can be in the running for one:

Alex Perry for Magnolia Jewellery collection: blogger breakfast

A breakfast at Watsons Bay's Dunbar House, with Alex Perry, for Magnolia jewellery?

I didn't have to be asked twice.

And so, on a glorious Thursday morning Alex hosted a bevy of bloggers and writers at an exclusive breakfast to celebrate the launch of his new jewellery line, simply called Alex Perry for Magnolia.

Being in a room with fellow bloggers is always fantastic - it shows how today's smart PR has embraced this very active, very vocal online community.

So: breakfast. The most divine breakfast of eggs and bacon and fancy hash browns and pastries and good, good coffee... made even more delicious with that stunning view.

Alex had given a short and sweet and humble speech [now that man is crazy talented, an incredible couturier, and now an equally talented high-end jewellery designer] and into breakfast we tucked. We didn't stay at our lushly set tables long [think Waterford crystal, Royal Albert teaware, and Wedgwood sugar bowls and creamers; yes, I asked] - we were up and inspecting all the intricate yet gorgeously simple pieces strewn across the tables and glassware and beautiful flower arrangements.

Alex has created a breathtaking 40 piece collection of fine silver jewellery. It's Mediterranean-inspired and cleverly contrasts natural stones like rose quartz, blue agate and lapis against the sparkle of cubic zirconia.

Says Alex: "When you put on jewellery that is really beautiful, it makes you feel special. It’s hard to describe and define what that feeling is, but I see it when women try something spectacular on. It transforms them, it makes them feel really great, and that euphoric feeling of confidence that you can see in their faces is what I wanted all my jewellery to achieve."

The six collections within the range are all uniquely different to one another, yet they complement each other in a way only a designer like Alex Perry would know how to do. From the glamorous Aegean Princess collection to the stackable macramé 'holiday bracelets', Alex Perry has added his own personal touch to a myriad of jewellery styles.

“A big part of this collaboration for me was to make quality and distinguishable jewellery accessible to women of all ages, styles and backgrounds, and to make it a price that isn’t exclusive to anybody”. With prices starting at $59, now's the time to own a 'piece' of Alex Perry via his for Magnolia Silver Jewellery range.

It was time for Alex to leave and an impromptu 'selfie' followed - Alex is luv-erly, funny, and extremely approachable.

We all left with a lovely memento from the day - a gorgeous bracelet from the Artermis holiday bracelet collection, as featured below. So very beautiful. [Magnolia's lovely PR Maffy gifted me an extra one for my daughter Estella... I have put it away for one day when it will fit her teeny wrist].

Here's more from the gorgeous collection:

This is Alex Perry’s first foray into silver jewellery design, and Magnolia Silver Jewellery’s second collaboration. Launched in 1996, Magnolia Silver Jewellery has grown to become the world’s largest silver fashion jewellery retailer, with more than 150 stores worldwide. All Magnolia pieces actually undergo rigorous testing to ensure they meet quality standards and are backed by a one-year, unlimited product warranty for peace of mind – this is a rarity in the silver jewellery retail market.

House of Emmanuele Rosary Ring: Competition

I have always been uber-obsessed with crucifixes.

I mean, how could I not?

I grew up Catholic, went to a Catholic school, there were religious relics around the house, and then... Madonna.

Suddenly, the crucifix was sexy... and sex and Catholicism... well, you know the drill. It's a sin to say those two words in the same sentence.

Look at this l'il minx from the 1980s, sporting a crucifix-earring.

And so, I own loads of crucifix jewellery - and not worn ironically or for a fancy dress 1980s do, either. Nope, I really truly love them.

So imagine my delight (there was lots of squealing) when my friend, the uber-talented jewellery designer Emmanuele Tsakiris from Australian jewellery design company House of Emmanuele sent me this too-divine rosary ring.

Yep, it's a beautifully-designed, filigree-style, Swarovski ring with a chain around the wrist, encrusted in the most divine Swarovski jewels. Have a look:

Okay, here's another pic (I edited this down - I actually snapped a 'million'):

And so, to kick off the new House of Emmanuele rosary ring, the brand has announced a unique kinda competition for the brand's devotees:

And so: if you buy a House of Emmanuele rosary ring, take a photo of with a unique backdrop, then tag yourself on the House of Emmanuele Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/HouseofEmmanuele), and the most creative photo will win a 'Phonenix' necklace and 'Phoenix' ring, valued at over $700.

Here's my take on the comp:

What will you come up with?

As for my beloved, 'blessed' rosary ring I will be donning it next week when I celebrate my 25 year (when I was in Year 10) high school reunion, where a touch of silver bling is essential. The fact that my old school is Our Lady of the Rosary is, this time, deliciously ironic.

Jennifer Aniston's engagement ring: too big?

Gawd, I 'love' this piece in the Daily Mail, UK's online newspaper.

The headline - about finally seeing Jennifer Aniston's engagement ring - is:

Is Jennifer Aniston's engagement ring TOO BIG? Eight-carat diamond is branded 'gaudy' and 'a showpiece' by style experts

- The huge emerald-cut stone is more similar to the size and weight of a cocktail ring than a traditional engagement ring.

I mean, c'mon. Seriously?

I know it IS indeed cocktail ring-size, but give the girl ["poor Jen"... yawn] a break.

Sure, it's big... but... it's not vulgar Kim Kardashian-big [see this: http://josiesjuice.blogspot.com.au/2011/05/kim-kardashians-engagement-ring-too.html]

Thoughts?

Neon - THE colour of the moment. The fashion and beauty 'edit'

Neons.

They are so right now. Like, this weekend, this second, today.

No doubt you've been seeing neon - or 'flouro' colours, if you lived them the first time around in the 1980s - everywhere all of a sudden. And you're dying to get your hands on some neon goodies. Here's my random edit.
Diva earrings $14.99

Diva necklace $24.99

L'Oreal Colour Riche 288 [lipstick] and 504 [nail polish]

Leopard print neon yellow scarf, $6 [I bought this on sale], from boohoo.com

Jasmine fuchsia suedette hi-top wedge $70, from boohoo.com

MAC cosmetics pigment colour in Magenta Madness, $39.

Jessica Biel obv loves this look:

And again, this time neon yellow heel accents

So does Naya Rivera [Glee] at same event in bright yellow heels

Kim Kardashian - and her hot pink pumps

And our own Sarah De Bono with a lime green cuff from Diva. I bought this immediately.

Are you a pink, yellow, lime, neon girl? If you wore it the first time around, what colour 'were' you? Me - I was a flouro pink girl, through and through. What about you?
