Susan Sarandon: New Global Ambassador For L'Oreal Paris

Susan Sarandon is your NEW, just announced Global Ambassador For L'Oreal Paris.

I love the hashtag and the tagline:

#NoFilter
Powerful woman of worth

YES!

Here she is:

Susan Sarandon is a Hollywood legend and one of the most respected actors of our time. She is a true woman of worth: an Oscar winner, mother, activist, entrepreneur, fighter, and a beautiful example of what it means to age with grace. She paved her own road to success with her signature film work, willingness to speak her mind without a filter, and ageless beauty. Highly respected by her peers and adored by the public, Susan is proving that age is just a number and that happiness is the ultimate beauty tool.

“Susan is a cinematic icon. She is strong, charismatic, and talented and has a compelling sense of self. Her outspoken activism, captivating film work, and authentic charm continue to inspire women to be fearless and believe in their convictions. She is a real woman of worth inside and out. We are honored to have Susan as a new Lorealista,” said Cyril Chapuy, L’Oréal Paris Brand Global President.

Born in Manhattan and raised in Queens and New Jersey, Susan was the eldest of nine children and grew up attending Catholic grammar school, public high school and Catholic University, in Washington, DC. She landed her first role in the film Joe at the age of 20 when she accompanied her husband to New York City where he got a role in a Broadway musical. That controversial part began her journey toward becoming one of Hollywood’s most esteemed leading ladies, recognized for playing strong, sexy, multifaceted characters. Many of her films have become instant classics, such as Thelma & Louise, Bull Durham and the campy cult hit, The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Her distinguished acting career has spanned over four decades and garnered her five Academy Award nominations, and a win for Best Actress for the 1995 film Dead Man Walking.

As a passionate social and political activist, she has supported progressive causes as diverse as LGBT rights, environmental issues, and the fight against racism. She was appointed a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and works globally to protect children’s rights. In 2006, she received the Action Against Hunger Humanitarian Award, and in 2013 she became the first celebrity face of the “100 Good Deeds Bracelet,” a non- profit organization providing economic and educational opportunities to women and girls across Africa and elsewhere. When asked about her passions, she consistently refers to global issues and has said, “When you are engaged in the bigger picture, you can’t afford the space to become so self-involved that everything is a crisis for you”. She demonstrates on a daily basis that it’s empowering to volunteer.“When L’Oréal Paris and Cyril first approached me, I was so flattered. The brand has always been a leader in helping in the empowerment and development of women. The very first time I heard ‘Because I’m Worth It’, it definitely was a shift in the framing of why you should look good. It had to do with women becoming the master of their own lives and decisions. It’s an extremely powerful statement that has transcended time. Beauty comes from the inside; it’s a state of mind. I’m proud to be a part of their message and to represent the L’Oréal Paris women,” said Sarandon.

Susan Sarandon has been admired throughout her long career, and continues to stay true to her authentic self. At 69 years old and happily owning it—along with her new role as a grandmother—she is living proof that age is just a number. Life doesn’t stop when you reach a certain age; for Sarandon, it’s quite the opposite: “I look forward to being older, when what you look like becomes less and less an issue and what you ARE is the point.” As a new international spokesperson, Susan Sarandon will be the face of Age Perfect skincare & hair color, and joins the glamorous L’Oréal family along with actresses Julianne Moore, Naomi Watts, and Blake Lively, and supermodels Karlie Kloss, Lara Stone, Natasha Poly, Liya Kebede, and Doutzen Kroes.

HUGE congrats, Susan! Stunning - and THE perfect spokesperson for the iconic, global brand that is L'Oreal. Stay tuned for her upcoming L'Oreal Paris campaigns.

Karlie Kloss: L’Oréal Paris New Spokesperson - VIDEO

Karlie Kloss, the catwalk heroine, is the new L’Oréal Paris new spokesperson for the much-loved global beauty brand. Here is the stunning woman:

Spotted at 14, idolised by age 22, supermodel Karlie Kloss rules the fashion world; from her powerful walk to her unique freshness, this model of models is much-loved and highly sought.

Here is quite fabulous intro video with the mega-brand:

“On catwalks where she catches lights with such intensity, through brilliant studies or a hectic New- Yorker life, Karlie is definitely the perfect combination between grace and modernity, intelligence and hard work. L’Oréal Paris is all about inspiring women taking the best of their whole potential,” said Cyril Chapuy, L’Oréal Paris Brand Global President.

Encouraged by a united family in her lightning rise, Karlie has been passionate about ballet dancing. From a relentless practice at the prestigious Caston’s ballet school, she developed an unlimited determination and learnt the very secrets of her hypnotic walk.

As a teenager, she turns her infinite legs and her atypical beauty into an inimitable signature that makes heads turn.

After being scouted by Teen Vogue in 2008, the most talented photographers and designers such as Bruce Weber, David Sims and Marc Jacobs put her on the map, giving her the leading role on the most awaited shows and on covers of the most renowned publications.
As the 2010 generation-icon, Karlie reveals backstage a generous personality appraised by everyone that draws effortlessly to her the most creative people willing to enhance her beauty.

As comfortable in fashion as on Harvard’s campus where she began her studies in Business of Media, Entertainment and Sports, Karlie dares showing her ambition. In 2012 she became an entrepreneur and created her own brand: Karlie’s Kookies. Humbled by her luck, she stays down-to-earth and combines this action to charity projects, helping needing children all around the world, such as Feed project.

“I have always believed that you have to be confident in yourself. Anything can happen if you really work at it. Never give up. This for me is what L’Oréal Paris does. This is why I am so proud to join this inspiring team.” declared Karlie on this new partnership with the brand.

Each decade gives birth to a new face rising star, and for this one, it looks Karlie Kloss has nabbed that title - one of the recognisable face of the moment. She now joins supermodels such as Lara Stone, Natasha Poly and Doutzen Kroes in the glamorous L’Oréal Paris spokesperson family.

L'Oréal Paris: OCRF Colour of Hope featuring Megan Gale - VIDEO

L’Oréal Paris has been the proud partner of the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) since 2009.

And now, in the spirit of the L'Oreal signature phrase “Because You’re Worth It”, L’Oréal Paris continues the campaign to be passionate about supporting and empowering women everywhere.

While awareness of the disease has increased amongst Australians, four in nine women still believe that a pap smear will detect ovarian cancer.

The sad reality is: there is no early detection test. Ovarian cancer remains a silent killer, with two thirds of women diagnosed in the advanced stages of the disease.

Here is how L'Oreal Paris Australia will be helping the cause:

*Applies to Colour Riche lipstick shades: Nude, Intense Plum, Magnetic Coral, Red Passion, Berry Blush and Perfect Red and Colour Riche Le Vernis shades: Beige Boheme, Spicy Orange, Scarlett Vamp, Femme Fatale, Shocking Pink and Opulent Pink.

To buy up and help in the fight against ovarian cancer, click here to buy or go into any Priceline store throughout the month of July and see all the colours there (inducing these two, below).

L'Oréal Paris: Zoe Saldana International Spokesperson

Hollywood actress and stunning beauty Zoe Saldana has just been announced as the new international spokesperson for L'Oréal Paris.

Here is the video below, featuring the eloquent, beautiful actress (I am a huge fun of her interviews; she seems a very clever woman), whose father hails from the Dominican Republic, and mother from Puerto Rico. She's hugely proud of her Latin culture and speaks Spanish, and of course, English.

The official statement from L'Oreal Paris says:

"We are delighted to officially announce that Zoe Saldana is the new International Spokesperson of L'Oréal Paris! Zoe Saldana, epitome of a true Hollywood star, and widely renowned for her role as Neytiri in sci-fi Award-winning blockbuster Avatar, has built her reputation as a versatile and respected international actress by casting eclectic roles with passion. Lara Stone L’Oréal Paris Spokesperson

Lara Stone, with her spectacular body, Bardot-esque silhouette and sexy gap-toothed grin has some news: she has become a new spokesperson for L’Oréal Paris:

“Lara is a real modern icon. Her rebellious, edgy sensual beauty has made her so strong and successful. Yet, she remains incredibly genuine, true, sensitive and super fun. I love her iconoclastic style and the way she distinguished herself on every single fashion show she walked for. We are thrilled to welcome this exceptional woman and young mother to our brand,” says Cyril Chapuy, L’Oréal Paris Global Brand President.

With an English father and Dutch mother, Lara Stone was discovered by an agent at the age of 12 on a trip to Paris while on a family vacation and started working as a teenager. But it wasn’t until 2006, when she was chosen by Givenchy to walk for the Fall Couture Show in Paris that her career kicked off. Ever since then, she has modelled in shows for practically every major House, including Chanel, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Lanvin, and Fendi and became a muse to designers.

Lara appeared in many advertising campaigns (she signed an exclusive deal with Calvin Klein) and has been featured in every major fashion magazine. She developed a close relationship with former Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld who dedicated an entire issue to her.

It was to be the start of a long and passionate relationship with the magazine and its international issues, of which she has adorned the cover nearly 10 times.

“I am so flattered to join L’Oréal Paris. Getting the chance to say “You’re worth it” to women
around the world is a great honour. L’Oréal Paris is a brand that has always understood that beauty and personality go hand in hand. I totally identify myself to the Brand values considering my own history and career. Beauty is something you invent for yourself. It’s a powerful
way of claiming who you really are,” said Lara Stone.

Lara, 29, is married to British actor David Walliams, and became a mother in May 2013.

Lara will be the Spokesperson for future great product innovations in several categories, including make-up, hair care and hair color. Lara joins the ranks of L’Oréal Paris Spokespersons like Beyoncé Knowles, Doutzen Kroes, Eva Longoria, Laetitia Casta, Freida Pinto, Julianne Moore, Hugh Laurie and Jane Fonda.

Megan Gale: L’Oréal Paris ovarian cancer fight

This just in: the first look at the L’Oréal Paris campaign which sees Australian face Megan Gale join their fight against ovarian cancer. This major national outdoor campaign will kick off on Monday. Here is a sneak preview:

With L’Oréal Paris, Megan has been the face of several major product campaigns, represented the brand at events internationally, and has now joined the brand's ongoing battle against ovarian cancer.

"Because You’re Worth It" is the famous L’Oréal Paris signature phrase, and this campaign is in line with continuing the brand's passionate about supporting and empowering women everywhere. Indeed, L’Oréal Paris has been a proud partner of the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) since 2009.

While awareness of the disease has increased it still remains a ruthless, silent killer without an early detection program. Every year approximately 1,200 Australian women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer and, in Australia, one woman dies of the disease every 10 hours. I won't lie - this disease terrifies me, and each time I hear it discussed on TV I am glued, wanting to glean as much information about it as possible.

"The OCRF’s vital research into ovarian cancer is an amazing cause that both I and L’Oréal Paris strongly believe in… it’s a devastating disease,” says Megan. “For L’Oréal Paris, their partnership with the OCRF is very special and I'm honoured to be involved with their fight in any way I can,” Megan continued.

Megan and L’Oréal Paris will be celebrating the brand’s partnership with the OCRF throughout September. Central to this, Megan will be the face of a major national outdoor campaign (above) created to drive awareness and vital research donations for ovarian cancer.

Megan Gale also joins Australian ovarian cancer survivors in an inspiring feature in the September issue of the 'Australian Women’s Weekly'and will co-host some of the magazine’s '80th Birthday High Tea' events with proceeds going to the cause.

In a clever, fun idea, L’Oréal Paris is asking all Australians to join the fight by hosting their own High Tea events throughout September to raise much-needed research donations. I am so there. What a fab excuse to hold a girlie shindig?

For further information or to donate please visit www.ocrf.com.au.

Could you please share this with everyone on all your social media networks? It is meaningful and urgent and important, for women and men and families. Everyone.

L’Oréal Paris SuperLiner Extensions: Australia

The catseye, the smoky eye, the winged eyeliner look... all of these eye makeup looks have been popular for decades. The look is always on-trend.

The biggest way to draw your way to success is to have the right, precision tools on hand.

I am such a dab hand at a winged liner, I can actually do a mean one while at the stop lights in a car (as a passenger, of course).

And now, my fave cosmetics brand L'Oréal Paris has introduced an extension of products following on from the ongoing success of L'Oréal Paris SuperLiner Liquid Eyeliner and SuperLiner 24H Gel Eyeliner, with the launch of three new eyeliners. These new-gen eyeliners are perfect tools to produce catwalk looks. They've stepped up the calibre of cosmetics to create the look.

L'Oréal Paris SuperLiner Perfect Slim Eyeliner RRP $24.45
Says the press release: In one steady stroke, SuperLiner Perfect Slim enhances the shape of the eye with its very precise 0.4mm tip. Providing a stylish and intense sweeping line, this precision felt-tip eyeliner gives optimum control thanks to its grip zone hold. SuperLiner Perfect Slim is the perfect beauty product for your everyday look plus to naturally take` your signature look from day to evening.

Real-life roadtest:
This fabulous, slim-tipped felt-style pen is is the tool to pick up if you want a precision line across your upper lid. It really is foolproof. Pro tip: start off slow, from the inner eye (about halfway across the lid, and sweep slowly to the outer corner, drawing a slighter thicker line as you go. A little flick on the end (you can start slow, then build up) gives you an instant catseye. Practice makes perfect. I adore this little baby... it's now indispensible to my makeup kit.

L'Oréal Paris SuperLiner Perfect Slim Eyeliner is available in Intense Black (below, with the model showing how the end result can look):

L'Oréal Paris SuperLiner Blackbuster Eyeliner RRP $16.95
Says the press release: Create the boldest eye looks with the mistake-proof SuperLiner Blackbuster. Inspired by current catwalk looks around the globe, SuperLiner Blackbuster is the first marker-pen eyeliner and offers the thickest liner yet for intense graphic lines that can be carefully crafted into perfectly-formed looks and shapes. The dark-as-night ‘black-ink’ formula glides on smoothly, lasts for eight hours and is just as easy to remove as apply.

Real-life roadtest:
Okay, this may look a little intimidating to start with - it looks like a big black school texta! - but give it a go (start slow, and build up the line gradually). It's perfect for more dramatic, far bolder looks. It can still do a less intense line, but gives you a sharper look, quicker. I love this chunky pen! Apply in the same way as the its thinner cousin, above, just keep a steadier hand and draw the line on slower.

L'Oréal Paris SuperLiner Blackbuster Eyeliner is available in Intense Black (below, and the look it can create):

L'Oréal Paris SuperLiner Silkissime Eyeliner RRP $22.95
Says the press release: With its silky texture, Silkissime Eyeliner allows for precise, sophisticated lines with a touch of silk. The oils used in the product’s technology provide an ultra-soft and ultra-gliding texture for unmatched sensoriality and shine. Plus, the formula’s Light Flex™ Polymer is a breakthrough innovation for flexible yet ultra-resistant smudge proof lines.  L’Oréal Paris Silkissime Eyeliner offers the ultimate silky pencil for a line that glides, shines and intensifies.  Get the most sophisticated eye looks with intensity and shine.

Real-life roadtest:
The test of a good eyeliner is one that glides on beautifully, and doesn't need you to drag it along the lower, inner eyelid, but isn't so soft that it goes all runny and panda-eye on you in five minutes flat. Nope, this baby is perfection. It's a smooth operator and gives a lovely clean line in no time. New makeup bag staple. Love.

L'Oréal Paris SuperLiner Silkissime Eyeliner is available in 601 Seductive Black and 602 Brown Temptation (below in black, and on model showing the look which can be acheived):

L'Oréal Paris SuperLiner Perfect Slim Eyeliner is available from August 2013 in selected pharmacies, variety and department stores.

L'Oréal Paris SuperLiner Silkissme and SuperLiner Blackbuster Eyeliner are available from October 2013 in selected pharmacies, variety and department stores.

L’Oréal Paris Preference Wild Ombrés Collection: Road Test and VIDEO How-To

I have been wild about ombré for several years now.

You know all about ombré yes? It's also called balayage or dip-dyed, but ombré is the most accurate description of this two-toned hair colour, where the darker roots complement the lighter ends.

And now... for the first time, you can do this at home.

Yes, I know it sounds tricky, but... allow me to be your guinea pig. The proof is below.

First, more about the just-released L’Oréal Paris Preference product.

Preference has been offering women impeccable colour, customised formulas, combined with the Hi-Shine Elixir – a unique complex of precious oils – tp create transparent, brilliant colour.

And now, L’Oréal Paris has proudly just launched its 'wildest' hair colour range yet: introducing the Preference Wild Ombrés Collection, offering unique, on-trend and professional-quality colours for Autumn/Winter 2013. The layered-colour look, with dark roots and light ends - ombré  - is the latest in high-end hair looks. It has been hovering for several years now. Carrie Bradshaw sported various versions of it in 'Sex & The City.'

But the latest incarnation is even more beautiful, pronounced, and surprisingly flattering.

The Preference Wild Ombrés Collection gives you:
A combination of lightening cream technology and a care complex with nutri-ceramides and Hi-Shine Elixir for customised results and lustrous, silky hair.
An expert brush designed especially to create the look so you get customised, natural results that blend in beautifully with no artificial-looking line—in just one step!

Every shade of Preference is carefully formulated in the L’Oréal Research Laboratories in collaboration with L’Oréal Paris Creative Colourist Director, Christophe Robin. He says:

I love the Preference Wild Ombrés… because they make the hair incredibly luminous. The results are 100% guaranteed and, since you don’t have to apply it to the roots, there’s no need for touch ups!”

Some tips for at-home hair colouring
1. No matter what the length of your hair, always begin by applying the Preference Wild Ombrés formula to the hair between the ear and chin.
2. Then, with the formula on the brush, brush each section of hair only once from top to bottom.
3. Leave on product according to the desired colour intensity. Then rinse.

The L'Oréal Paris Preference Wild Ombrés Collection is available in two fashionable shades:
Wild Ombrés No. 2 for Dark Blond to Medium Brown hair
Wild Ombrés No. 4 for Light Blond to Blond hair

The L'Oréal Paris Preference Wild Ombrés Collection is available at selected pharmacies, department and variety stores, and supermarkets for RRP $19.45Stockist number: 1300 659 359.

Here is the Australian video how-to. It shows just how truly easy it is:

And here is the Australian TV ad:

So, what do you think? Willing to give it a go?

I did.

And here are the results.

First, a before shot done one week before:

And... the 'after' reveal!

Beautiful, huh?

And my new balayage hair with curls:

A few days later, my hair still looked schmick:

I adore this look, and love that it is so darn easy to apply. Several weeks in and I still adore the colour and the professional ombré effect.
