Logies 2017: VIDEO Highlights

Did you watch the TV Week Logie Awards? Or missed it? Or simply could not last the distance?

We have your back!

Josie's Juice is a steadfast aficionado of "TV's night of nights" and watched it (at someone's holiday home this time), Instagrammed, recorded, and will watch again.

Here are the highlights for you! You are welcome:

First! The 2017 Gold Logie winner, Samuel Johnson:

And... one YouTuber posted the same speech - with subtitles. We are sure it's not a pisstake... we LOVE Molly, and we think he's doing so, so well since his accident recovery:

THE Jessica Mauboy performance! A mash up of her hits... girl can DANCE!

The Amber Sherlock pisstake of 'jacketgate' (I really like Amber a lot... we've met at kiddies media events and I think she was crucified over that clip. Pete and Kat... you are so cheeky):

Casey Donovan's gorgeously sung tribute to those who died in the past 12 months:

James Blunt's new song performance:

The tribute to Logies hall of fame inductee, Kerri-Anne Kennerley:

The full version of her speech here:

Dannii Minogue and Tina Arena on stage and laughing at a mini Dannii during their shared YTT days (that's 'Young Talent Time' to the non hardcore fans... like us!):

And some snippets of the red carpet broadcast for you (I know, I know - we've thought of everything...).

Wait here is the WHOLE red carpet: click HERE.

Or, hey the WHOLE CEREMONY... All three hours of it?

Julia Morris: Logies Mistake - VIDEOS

Actress and comedienne Julia Morris was hilarious last night when she inadvertently stole the show with a huge blunder which she deflected in her typical comical fashion. She was hilarious.
While presenting the award for Outstanding Entertainment Program she forgot to read out the nominees and just announced the winner - 'The Voice.'
After the judges from The Voice came to the stage to accept the award, Julia realised her mistake.
“Did I forget to talk about the nominees?” she asked. “It’s live, don’t tell anyone, we can cut it out later.
“We’re going to talk about the nominees later when I’m in really big trouble. It’s just inappropriate to talk about who they are now, isn’t it?” She then decided it wasn’t too late and continued.
“Let’s pretend it hasn’t happened, ladies and gentlemen, the nominees… I wish I had my glasses,” she said as she read out the nominees.
“Come on, why did it have to be me, couldn’t it be someone groovy who did that?”

Carrie Bickmore's Emotional Gold Logies Speech About Brain Cancer, Her Late Husband, and Wearing a Beanie to Raise Awareness #beaniesforbraincancer

Carrie Bickmore delivered one of the most memorable - NO, the most memorable speech I can ever remember on the Logies telecast.

She dedicated her Gold Logie win to raising awareness around brain cancer. She urged all on TV tomorrow - Lisa and Karl and Samantha and Kochie on breakfast TV, and all on TV, and all of us going to work, school and everywhere - to don a beanie to raise awareness around the disease, which kills many more than we think - her late husband  Greg was one such person. She tells how he was affected by wearing a beanie - and so her mission with her message was to remove any stigma associated with it.

Carrie said: “Over ten years I watched him suffer multiple seizures a day, lose feeling down one side of his body.
”He was an incredibly brave man, he was a great dad, he was a great husband. But he shouldn’t have had to go through that.” Revealing Greg was embarrassed about his brain cancer surgery scars and wore a beanie to cover them, she put on her blue beanie, and said she wanted every TV host in Australia to do the same.
”Sam, Kochie, Karl, Lisa - wear it on TV tomorrow. If you’re going to school put a beanie on. If you’re going to work, put a beanie on. Take a pic of yourself with the hashtag #beaniesforbraincancer.”
“I want to dedicate this award to anyone that is going through a shit time right now. Please believe that there will be a brighter day for you. Please believe that. I’ll see you on the dance floor. Thank you very much.”
How fitting that two of the three women standing on that stage behind her - Delta Goodrem and Kerri-Anne Kennerley (Kate Ritchie was also present on stage, with all three presenting the award) had also gone through their own very personal but very public cancer journey.
In Carrie's speech she cheered for the underdog, the person who is going through a 'shit' time, for the carers and those who are sad and low to understand, in the hope they will know that it does get better.

She also said:

“Every five hours someone is diagnosed with brain cancer and eight out of 10 people will die from brain cancer,” said Carrie.

“In 2010 my husband Greg was one of the unlucky ones. He was a great dad a great husband and a great friend.”

If it is possible to be even more in love with this wonderful woman of substance then yes… here it is.

Part of her speech is here (oh, and hashtag: #beaniesforbraincancer)
