Natalie Joyce Speaks: Interview With The Australian Women's Weekly

Natalie Joyce, the former wife of Australian politician Barnaby Joyce, has spoken out for the first time since their marriage breakdown and the subsequent birth of Barnaby's son Sebastian with his new partner Vikki Campion. The exclusive interview appears in the July 2018 edition of 'The Australian Women's Weekly'.

In an exclusive with Natalie, this report about the article says that Natalie's "decision to finally speak up came easily. Along with a strong desire to set the record straight, she had four compelling reasons - her daughters Bridgette, 21, Julia, 20, Caroline, 18, and Odette, 15."

Read that article here.

It continues by adding that Natalie describes the TV interview as "an absolute disgrace", saying it didn't come as a great shock to her that Vikki was the driving force behind it.

Plus, the story was "a decision made well before word of the Barnaby and Vikki TV tell-all on 'Sunday Night' had surfaced.

The magazine posted about the interview, which is said to be unpaid, on Facebook with this photo and caption:

EXCLUSIVE: Natalie Joyce breaks her silence on the worst two years of her life, the moment she confronted her husband Barnaby Joyce's mistress and how the love and support of the greater rural community saved her. Issue on sale tomorrow.

Here is the cover of The Australian Women's Weekly featuring the Natalie Joyce interview, out tomorrow:

Ellen: "What Makes America Great" VIDEO post Trump win

This is going viral.

With the US Presidential election behind us, Ellen Degeneres discusses what makes America "stronger, and the importance of getting along":

Michael Moore: "Morning After To-Do List” Going Viral + Prediction Trump Would Be President

Michael Moore, the outspoken US filmmaker behind 'Capitalism: A Love Story', 'Fahrenheit 9/11', and 'Bowling For Columbine', and author behind 'Dude Where's My Country?' and ' Stupid White Men' has posted a morning after to-do list on social media, and it is going viral.

He also absolutely predicted Donald Trump would win the US presidency. As he indeed did so yesterday.

He said in July 2016 on 'Real Time With Bill Maher': "I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I gave it to you straight last summer when I told you that Donald Trump would be the Republican nominee for president. And now I have even more awful, depressing news for you: Donald J. Trump is going to win in November."
Read more about his spot on prediction below. But first, his morning after strategy.

Here it is in full, below:

Morning After To-Do List:
1. Take over the Democratic Party and return it to the people. They have failed us miserably.
2. Fire all pundits, predictors, pollsters and anyone else in the media who had a narrative they wouldn't let go of and refused to listen to or acknowledge what was really going on. Those same bloviators will now tell us we must "heal the divide" and “come together.” They will pull more hooey like that out of their ass in the days to come. Turn them off.
3. Any Democratic member of Congress who didn’t wake up this morning ready to fight, resist and obstruct in the way Republicans did against President Obama every day for eight full years must step out of the way and let those of us who know the score lead the way in stopping the meanness and the madness that's about to begin.
4. Everyone must stop saying they are “stunned” and “shocked.” What you mean to say is that you were in a bubble and weren’t paying attention to your fellow Americans and their despair. YEARS of being neglected by both parties, the anger and the need for revenge against the system only grew. Along came a TV star they liked whose plan was to destroy both parties and tell them all “You're fired!” Trump’s victory is no surprise. He was never a joke. Treating him as one only strengthened him. He is both a creature and a creation of the media and the media will never own that.
5. You must say this sentence to everyone you meet today: “HILLARY CLINTON WON THE POPULAR VOTE!” The MAJORITY of our fellow Americans preferred Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump. Period. Fact. If you woke up this morning thinking you live in an effed-up country, you don’t. The majority of your fellow Americans wanted Hillary, not Trump. The only reason he’s president is because of an arcane, insane 18th-century idea called the Electoral College. Until we change that, we’ll continue to have presidents we didn’t elect and didn’t want. You live in a country where a majority of its citizens have said they believe there’s climate change, they believe women should be paid the same as men, they want a debt-free college education, they don’t want us invading countries, they want a raise in the minimum wage and they want a single-payer true universal health care system. None of that has changed. We live in a country where the majority agree with the “liberal” position. We just lack the liberal leadership to make that happen (see: #1 above). Let's try to get this all done by noon today. -- Michael Moore
This is in line with his eerily accurate prediction as outlined above.
Here is a clip from 'Real Time With Bill Maher' in July 2016, with the transcript below, when he made these predictions:
In a post on his blog that is undated, but published well before the election, he wrote, "I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I gave it to you straight last summer when I told you that Donald Trump would be the Republican nominee for president. And now I have even more awful, depressing news for you: Donald J. Trump is going to win in November."
"This wretched, ignorant, dangerous part-time clown and full time sociopath is going to be our next president. President Trump. Go ahead and say the words, 'cause you'll be saying them for the next four years: 'PRESIDENT TRUMP.'"
Moore's theory, laid out in typical Moore fashion, details what has now proven to be spectacularly spot on: that Donald Trump would win four rustbelt states that Democrats believed they could not lose.
He writes:
"And this is where the math comes in. In 2012, Mitt Romney lost by 64 electoral votes," wrote Moore. "Add up the electoral votes cast by Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. It's 64. All Trump needs to do to win is to carry, as he's expected to do, the swath of traditional red states from Idaho to Georgia (states that'll never vote for Hillary Clinton), and then he just needs these four rust belt states. He doesn't need Florida. He doesn't need Colorado or Virginia. Just Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. And that will put him over the top. This is how it will happen in November."
He argued that men, spooked that "a male-dominated, 240-year run of the USA is coming to an end" would be driven to the polls to keep a woman out of office, and that white men, already embittered by eight years of an Obama presidency, would turn out to block her rise. He speculated that Bernie Sanders supporters would not turn out to support Clinton once she won the primary, and he was right about that too.
And he added that people would simply not trust Hillary Clinton.
He also argued that in a nation that had already elected the wrestler Jesse Ventura to high office, frustration would once again rear its head at the polling booth.
"It's one of the few places left in society where there are no security cameras, no listening devices, no spouses, no kids, no boss, no cops, there's not even a friggin' time limit," wrote Moore.
"You can take as long as you need in there and no one can make you do anything. You can push the button and vote a straight party line, or you can write in Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. There are no rules. And because of that, and the anger that so many have toward a broken political system, millions are going to vote for Trump not because they agree with him, not because they like his bigotry or ego, but just because they can."

He adds in his blog post titled '5 Reasons Trump Will Win':

Never in my life have I wanted to be proven wrong more than I do right now.

I can see what you’re doing right now. You’re shaking your head wildly – “No, Mike, this won’t happen!” Unfortunately, you are living in a bubble that comes with an adjoining echo chamber where you and your friends are convinced the American people are not going to elect an idiot for president. You alternate between being appalled at him and laughing at him because of his latest crazy comment or his embarrassingly narcissistic stance on everything because everything is about him. And then you listen to Hillary and you behold our very first female president, someone the world respects, someone who is whip-smart and cares about kids, who will continue the Obama legacy because that is what the American people clearly want! Yes! Four more years of this!

You need to exit that bubble right now. You need to stop living in denial and face the truth which you know deep down is very, very real. Trying to soothe yourself with the facts – “77% of the electorate are women, people of color, young adults under 35 and Trump cant win a majority of any of them!” – or logic – “people aren’t going to vote for a buffoon or against their own best interests!” – is your brain’s way of trying to protect you from trauma. Like when you hear a loud noise on the street and you think, “oh, a tire just blew out,” or, “wow, who’s playing with firecrackers?” because you don’t want to think you just heard someone being shot with a gun.

In the interview with Bill Maher nearly six months ago, he also says:

“I think Trump is going to win. I’m sorry,” And as the crowd booed his comments, host Bill Maher said Moore was doing the right thing by speaking out.

“Boo if you want. The enemy is complacency,” Maher predicted accurately.

According to Moore, Trump’s best chance at winning the general election lay in Middle America. “I live in Michigan. Let me tell you: it’s going to be the Brexit strategy,” Moore said, before then going on to compare the middle of England to Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. “Mitt Romney lost by 64 electoral votes,” Moore said. “The total electoral votes of those four states in the Rust Belt: 64.”
Moore has been more than vocal about Trump many times before.
He has called him a fascist in an interview with 'The Guardian' earlier this year.
He has also stood outside Trump Tower in New York with a sign that read “We are all Muslim.”, in line with Trump stating he would ban Muslim immigrants from entering the United States if he were to be elected president.
Michael Moore and Bill Maher also discussed Donald Trump in an interview back in May, when the pair decided they would join forces to stop Donald Trump’s road to the White House.
“You and I are going to take him down. You and I,” Moore told the host of Real Time on Friday night’s episode. “No, seriously. This is the end of Donald Trump. He is not going to the White House.” Maher added, “You tell me where to show up, I’ll be there.”
When Moore sat down for an interview on Maher’s show, the host asked, “From now until the election — I’m just gonna ask everybody on this show, I don’t care if it gets boring  how do we stop Donald Trump?”

Deng Adut: NSW Australian Of The Year

Best news ever.

Deng Adut has been named the NSW Australian of the Year.

The 33 year old refugee and criminal lawyer shed tears as he received this top honour from Premier Mike Baird at ceremony in Sydney on Monday night. He said he was beyond surprised.
"Shocked," he said. "I never dreamed of anything. Even (being) a fisherman."
Adut was forced to fight as a child soldier at the age of six in Sudan before he was smuggled out and made it to Australia.
From illiterate refugee to criminal lawyer, Adut is studying for a second master's degree while running AC Law Group, which he set up to fight for members of the Sudanese community from his home in Blacktown in Sydney's west.
His story is well known, largely thanks to a TV advertising campaign for Western Sydney University, which depicts his remarkable story:
Adut said Australia was not his adopted country, but his home.
Is this not the most inspiring story? That TV ad moves me EVERY SINGLE TIME.
Josie's Juice wrote about it HERE.

Salim Mehajer: AVO taken out by wife Aysha

Controversial former Auburn councillor Salim Mehajer is now not allowed to be within 50 metres of his wife Ayshaafter he was slapped with an Apprehended Violence Order (AVO) following a confrontation at her sister's Wollongong home.

The AVO is in place for the next five weeks.

Neither Mehajer nor his wife, whose maiden name is Learmonth (the name on the application) were present for the proceedings in the Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday.

The order is in place until 17 August, which means the couple will not be together on their first anniversary 15 August), which was the date of the wedding they dubbed the 'wedding of the century'.

This follows on from confirmation from him on Tuesday - according to this report in  The Daily Telegraph - that his wife was no longer living in their Lidcombe mansion, still claiming that they see each other 'every day'.

Police filed the AVO application against Mr Mehajer on behalf of his wife after she told police he kept 'popping up wherever she is' and feared he could become violent, a police source said.

The property developer's lawyer, Matt Ward, told the court that his client did not oppose three points in the AVO, including that 'the defendant must not assault, molest, harass, or threaten' his wife.

He has also been ordered not to intimidate or stalk her.

However, Mr Mehajer will challenge the following:

'The defendant must not go within 50 metres of the premises at which his wife resides or works' and that Mr Mehajer 'must not approach or contact his wife' except through the defendant's legal representative.

But he won't have any opportunity to change that ruling until the middle of next month, at the earliest.

This follows on from an earlier report - several months ago - in which 'A Current Affair' suggested that the much talked about politician had split from his wife, Aysha.

See that report HERE.

See the couple's wedding day video HERE.

And the much talked about pre wedding day video and photos HERE.

Here is a report on the latest AVO development:

Tony Abbott addresses media for the last time as prime minister: VIDEO

JUST IN a few minutes ago:

Tony Abbott addresses media for the last time as prime minister:

Here is the full transcript, as posted on Facebook:

This is not an easy day for many people.
Leadership changes are never easy for our country.
My pledge today is to make this change as easy as I can.
There will be no wrecking, no undermining, and no sniping.
I have never leaked or backgrounded against anyone and I certainly won’t start now.
Our country deserves better than that.
I want our Government and our country to succeed. I always have and I always will.
I have consistently said – in Opposition and in Government – that being the Prime Minister is not an end in itself: it is about the people you serve.
The great privilege that I have had is to see the wonder of this country like few others and I want to thank the Australian people for giving me the honour to serve.
Yes, this is a tough day, but when you join the game you accept the rules.
I have held true to what I believed and I am proud of what we have achieved over the past two years.
300,000 more people are in jobs.
Labor’s bad taxes are gone.
We have signed Free Trade Agreements with our largest trading partners – with Japan, with Korea, and with China.
The biggest infrastructure programme in our country’s history is under way.
A spotlight is being shone into the dark and corrupt corners of the union movement and Labor’s party/union business model.
We have responded to the threats of terror and we have deployed to the other side of the world to bring our loved ones home.
The boats have stopped – and with the boats stopped, we’ve been better able to display our compassion to refugees.
And despite hysterical and unprincipled opposition, we've made $50 billion of repairs to the budget.
Of course, there's much that I had still wanted to do: constitutional recognition of Indigenous people – getting the kids to school, the adults to work and communities safe.
I was the first Prime Minister to spend a week a year in remote Indigenous Australia, and I hope I'm not the last.
Then there’s the challenge of ice and domestic violence, yet to be addressed.
Australia has a role to play in the struggles of the wider world: the cauldron of the Middle East, and security in the South China Sea and elsewhere.
I fear that none of this will be helped if the leadership instability that's plagued other countries continues to taint us.
But yes, I am proud of what the Abbott Government has achieved.
We stayed focused despite the white-anting.
Of course, the Government wasn't perfect.
We have been a Government of men and women, not a government of gods walking upon the earth.
Few of us, after all, entirely measure up to expectations.
The nature of politics has changed in the past decade.
We have more polls and more commentary than ever before – mostly sour, bitter, character assassination.
Poll-driven panic has produced a revolving door prime ministership which can’t be good for our country and a febrile media culture has developed that rewards treachery.
And if there’s one piece of advice I can give to the media, it’s this: refuse to print self-serving claims that the person making them won't put his or her name to; refuse to connive at dishonour by acting as the assassin's knife.
There are many to thank for the privilege of being Prime Minister.
First and foremost, I thank my family for allowing me to be the absentee spouse and parent that politics entails.
I thank Margie for her grace and dignity throughout my public life.
I thank my party for the privilege of leading it.
I thank the armed forces who are serving our country and defending our values, even as we speak.
I thank my staff who have been absolutely unceasing in their devotion to our party and our country, especially my Chief of Staff who has been unfairly maligned by people who should have known better.
Finally, I thank my country for the privilege of service.
It is humbling to lose, but that does not compare to the honour of being asked to lead.
In my Maiden Speech here in this Parliament, I quoted from the first Christian service ever preached here in Australia.
The Reverend Richard Johnson took as his text, “What shall I render unto the Lord for all his blessings to me?”
At this, my final statement as Prime Minister, I say: I have rendered all and I am proud of my service.
My love for this country is as strong as ever and may God bless this great Commonwealth.

Julia Gillard Tweets Message About Malcolm Turnbull + Julie Bishop's Reaction

Former Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard has tweeted her congrats on the spectacular turn of events overnight, with Tony Abbott losing his Prime Ministership to new Prime Minister-elect Malcolm Turnbull:

And this, the photo doing the rounds - that popcorn meme of Julia Gillard, who we know was unceremoniously ousted, the same way her predecessor Kevin Rudd was.

On on another note, it's interesting to note that Deputy PM Julie Bishop has been the deputy sheriff for four different leaders.

In an interview with Channel Nine Julie Bishop revealed the emotional toll of her decision.
"I'm not enjoying this Karl [Stefanovic], it's a very difficult time," she said.
When asked about Mr Abbott's mindset and reaction following the ballot Ms Bishop looked obviously upset.
"He was calm, he was obviously very hurt. Emotionally this is a very draining time for people and I feel for Tony and I feel for Margie and his daughters. I knew them well," she said.
"I know what stresses and strains the leadership were under. It was a very difficult time for him of course, it was very emotional for everyone involved.
