Karl Stefanovic: Marriage split. First interview.

TV's Karl Stefanovic has opened up for the first time about his marriage split from his wife of 21 years, Cassandra Thorburn.

Staying silent on the deeply personal issue, despite being in the public eye with his co-hosting roles on Channel 9's 'Today' show, 42 year old Karl gave his first interview since his high-profile split from wife Cassandra last year, admitting that there are ways in which he feels he's failed as a husband and father.

It's the first time he has spoken about their split since September last year, when it was announced that he was moving out of the home he shared with his wife and their three children.

Speaking to News Corp, Karl said: "For me personally I would definitely have failures in a husband sense and hope that I can rectify my failures as a dad ... I hope I can try and rebuild whatever has happened in the past and try and make the most of what I can do with them in the future."

He called his estranged wife Cassandra an "amazing woman", adding: "It's a real burden emotionally for both people breaking up after a long and successful marriage. Life is life. People make mistakes. People have break ups. People mostly try to do their best and sometimes they fail. I think that we will work through it as best we can."

Karl has spent time in his mate James Packer's Bondi apartment since the split, and later went to Aspen with the James, who himself was recently estranged from fiancĂ©e Mariah Carey

Karl says the two didn't talk about their relationship dramas, but that James is "on the way back". For now, Karl's focus is on his children. He added: "It's not their fault. For me I just want to be there for my kids as much as I can. It's not easy on anyone and the priority has to be on the children in any situation. For me the only issue was the burden of paparazzi around my family in the initial months. That is regrettable, that is hard to explain to a kid and I think it is awful for kids."

Steve Jacobs: Leaving 'Today' Show VIDEO

Steve Jacobs is leaving the 'Today' show... but not entirely.

The affable, very funny weatherman on Channel 9's breakfast show is stopping the travel all around the place to bring us the weather... well, at least during the week.

Steve, also affectionately known as Stevie, will be still on the show doing his always emotional 'Knock Of Cash', and Weekend Today weather slots.

He made the announcement on the show just now, and, I've gotta say... I cried tears. Such special bonds on the show, and such emotion as he's making the announcement.

The caption:

After 12 amazing years, our weatherman Stevie Jacobs is taking a step back to spend more time with his gorgeous wife and kids! Don't worry, he's not leaving the TODAY family - you'll be able to see him on the weekends and doing his signature Knock of Cash! Enjoy it Stevie, you've earned it!  #9Today

Longtime editor, journalist, and television presenter Lisa Wilkinson has been appointed editor-at-large for the Australian version of 'The Huffington Post', which will officially launch its Australian website on Wednesday.

Lisa, the presenter of the Nine Network's 'Todayshow, is the latest addition to the local line up, and will continue her role on the TV show.

She told smh.com.au that her new job as The Huffington Post's editor-at-large "involves wandering the earth, looking for great ideas and bringing them back to the cave".

And akin to The Guardian and The Daily Mail sites, The Huffington Post has chosen to grow the site by leveraging its international content through localised sites.

Here is the clip which got Arianna sitting up and taking even more notice of our Lisa:

Karl Stefanovic wears same suit for a year: sexism experiment

Karl Stefanovic has conducted an interesting experiment in front of our very eyes, each morning, for the past 12 months… and nobody even noticed. So, it can essentially be deemed a success. Clever guy.

Angered by the sexism directed at his female colleagues he decided to wear the same blue suit on air, two days in a row. Then three. And then, a month went by… nobody said a thing.

And now, a full year has passed – and he is still wearing the same cheap Burberry knock-off suit, every morning, on Channel Nine's 'Today' show.

No audience member has asked about it, says Karl.

Here he is a variety of shots wearing the saaaame suit:

He tells Fairfax Media:

"No one has noticed; no one gives a shit. But women, they wear the wrong colour and they get pulled up. They say the wrong thing and there's thousands of tweets written about them.

"Women are judged much more harshly and keenly for what they do, what they say and what they wear."

Andreja Pejić: Lisa Wilkinson 'Today' show interview

I really enjoyed this interview this morning, for many reasons.

Respectful, positive, friendly, a good interview chemistry: Lisa Wilkinson interviewing model Andreja Pejić on the 'Today' show.

She told Lisa:

“I’ve always believed I’ve had a female identity it just took me 23 years to live the life I’ve always wanted” she said.

“When I was 14, I came out to my mum [about my sexuality] and I never looked back. I felt like I was disappointing her, but she’s a mother who loves her children.”
Shortly after her seventeenth birthday, Pejić was discovered while working at McDonald’s.
“This guy came in – he wanted a cheeseburger. He then gave me his card and told me to see him at his modelling agency.”
Andreja shot to fame when Gaultier chose her to walk in both his men’s and women’s shows in 2011.
“I feel more like myself than ever, I feel very happy to be back in my hometown," she told Lisa, having flown into Melbourne yesterday to surprise Gaultier on the eve of the opening of his glamour exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria.
“My transition has allowed me to live a truthful life and achieve my dreams. It feels good”
She adds: “I hope to keep modelling for as long as I can, I would live to study at university. I would love to inspire people." And falling in love is part of that new life.
“That would be nice too” she tell Lisa. “I would love to get married, and have kids. I’ve always wanted to be a mother.”
Andreja, was born Andrej in Tuzla, Bosnia, but fled the country with her brother, mother and grandmother during the Bosnian War.

After the 1999 NATO bombing of Serbia, Pejić's mother felt unsafe and decided to begin the process of emigration to Australia. They settled in Melbourne in 2000.
And now, Andreja is hoping to crowdfund a documentary about her transition.
