Brooke Blurton: first ever Indigenous, bisexual 'Bachelorette'

Brooke Blurton has just been announced as the first ever mixed gender 'bachelorette' on TV show: 'The Bachelorette' Australia.

The West Australian is a Carnarvon-born Yamatji-Noongar woman, and has been cast as the first openly bisexual star on the popular reality TV show.

So yes, that means Blurton will have both men and women competing for her love and affection,  signalling the first time The Bachelor or men has had a mixed gender cast.

'The Bachelorette' show host Osher Günsberg said in a statement that the upcoming season highlights the diversity and common interests of Australia.

"We are a nation of people from so many different backgrounds, so many different cultures and so many different experiences, yet we all have one thing in common – we all want to be loved in a way that is meaningful to us," he said.

Brooke herself said: “Times are more progressive and sexuality and gender expression are just so fluid these days,” she told News Corp Australia.

Brooke burst onto the scene in Nick Cummins’ season (yep, The Honey Badger... he who did not pick ANYONE at the end of his show tenure, much to the dismay of, well, most of Australia) of 'The Bachelor' Australia, then left the mansion on her own terms towards the end of the show.

Brooke had indeed let Nick know she had previously been in two relationships with women.

Brooke also appeared on 'Bachelor in Paradise'.

Equally exciting for the show is that Brooke is of Aboriginal background - finally! More beautiful Indigenous women on our screens. Much more of this please TV programmers!

Says Brooke, a youth worker: "I've done it twice before and now, having the opportunity to choose my person and who I want in my life, is a truly unique and special experience," she said.

"I'm so excited and hope that I finally find that person I've been waiting for."

Bring it on!

No screen date set yet, as the show will go into production shortly.

Matty J: 'The Bachelor' VIDEOS

As 'The Bachelor' (and 'The Bachelorette' aficionados would be well aware, Sydney marketing director Matthew Johnson, aka Matty J, has been confirmed as the latest star of Network Ten dating show 'The Bachelor'.
The now 30 year old was a firm fan favourite on the most recent season of 'The Bachelorette', where he was 'runner-up' to 'winner' Lee Elliott in the battle to win the heart of Georgia Love.

So it's no surprise he was the hot pick to star in the fifth (yes!) season of the show – which will air later this year.

Matty admitted he was heartbroken and would “run to the bathroom and start crying” in the weeks following the rejection. Wow, just wow. I like that though... he's a SNAG (gosh it has been eons since we've used that word!).
But now:

“I feel so privileged that I’ve been given the opportunity to be The Bachelor,” he said in a statement.
“Without question, the most exciting part is the chance to meet the girl I’m going to spend the rest of my life with.”
What is Matty looking for? His ideal woman is “kind, intelligent, easy-going” and “shares his passion for the outdoors and the ocean”. And long walks on the beach. Nah, we can't make fun of Matty J. One, it's not our style. And two, he's so cute :)

Megan and Tiff 'The Bachelor' Dating: Confirmed

So, yeah.

Two seemingly hetero gals who were both contestants on 'The Bachelor' are now dating.

After weeks of clever hints, Megan Marx and Tiffany Scanlan have confirmed they are in a relationship.

Rumours had been swirling for a while that the former 'The Bachelor' contestants’ VERY close friendship was actually a girl romance... all you need to do is look at the series of naked photo shoots and “couple shots” with loved up captions.
Here are some of their Instagram photos. Yep, defs a couple. But first, the CONFIRMATION INSTAGRAM POST!

I met Tiffany in a very strange situation. Well... we were kind of dating the same guy. And it was filmed and put on TV 😂. From that first cocktail party, it was like this instant calibration between souls, as if we had known each other once before. Friendship ripened into something bolder, trust in a very strange situation was formed, and now every adventure we have rivals the other- and continues to make plans for itself. Yesterday I flew this beautiful woman to The Abrolhos islands for her 30th birthday! I have to admit that I felt so so proud to be with her, my favourite person, celebrating such a momentous occasion on the water- a mutual love of ours. She is so confident in the ocean and in every adventure, as if every new experience is a winning of the lottery somehow; a chance to grow and learn and develop. To Tiffany, experience wins over the worldly acquisition of 'things' every time- and I think this is why she is so open-minded, so accepting of others, so fun and so at ease with letting winds blow her towards a variety of opportunities. She's helped me to disintegrate many of the ideals I've had that were harmful (about relationships, about career and 'stability') and for that I feel set free. Thank you for always asking questions (detective Tiff), for being curious about people, ideologies and the universe; for loving people with such a wholesome love that I don't know if I would ever be able to emulate. It inspires me. Happy Birthday Tiffany. I love you.

Last month, Megan refused to deny their romance in an interview with OK!magazine.

“I think you can probably tell from the pictures that have been posted that we don’t have the most conventional relationship,” she said.

Though she also made it clear neither of them would rule out a relationship with a woman.
“I think that when it comes to attraction, for me, it’s usually a connection of minds and humour before anything else and I’m traditionally attracted to men but I don’t rule anything out ... I would say Tiff’s in the same boat.”

Richie & Alex 'The Bachelor' Full Interview 'The Project': VIDEO

So, Richie and Alex from 'The Bachelor'... how are they doing now?

Here is their first televised interview, on 'The Project' tonight:

And Nikki? Here is what she had to say:

Thursday, 15 September 2016

'The Bachelor', Nikki: "I am off dating."

Nikki!

It seems all of the nation (not really, only the ones who watch 'The Bachelor') was SO bummed that Nikki was not the one chosen as Richie Strahan aka Bachie.

Nikkie was left shattered when Richie chose Alex Nation on tonight's finale.

Nikki told 'The Daily Telegraph':

“I am off (dating),” Gogan said. “I am no where near being ready to date again. I know I will find my person, I am not feeling like that will never happen. And I do believe everything happens for a reason so in some crazy way, this might be a turning point for me.

“I know I will wake up one day and realise, well that’s why that happened.

“You saw me fall head over heels and I was that, but I need to remember I’m not the first and I won’t be the last person to fall in love with someone who won’t love me back.”

She added:

'I am off dating,' said the 29-year-old Western Australia native.

What did you think of tonight's decision?

Two single mums in a row for the show now (Snezana last year...)

'The Bachelor': Final Two, 2016

Well, that's it folks!

'The Bachelor' Richie has chosen his final two... did you pick it?

Olena = out.

Alex and Nikki = in.

Here is what went down:

Missed the ep?

Watch it in FULL here.

Tonight, Richie told Olena he thinks she's not giving him enough to have faith in the relationship.

Funny that!

She's kinda one of three women dating him... on a reality TV show, so... duh!

Richie said:

"I came on this wild ride to find love, and I now know without a doubt I'm gonna find it."

And:

"Saying goodbye to Olena wasn't that difficult, I want to be with a woman who's gonna love me for me, and someone that's gonna see challenges ahead and want to work and overcome them together.

Ouchies!

With his parents recently celebrating their 42nd wedding anniversary, Michael is hoping to follow in their footsteps and score the ultimate goal: finding long-lasting love.
What made you want to be part of The Bachelorette Australia?
I thought it would be a great experience to find love.

How would you describe your perfect woman?
Someone with really good family values, likes the simple things in life, isn’t arrogant and is like talking to your best friend.
How are you going to stand out from the other Bachelors?
I’ll just be myself. Last I checked, there is only one of me on the planet.
What are your thoughts on blind dates?
I take them like a grain of salt. If someone sets one up, I’ll happily go on it, but I don’t go in expecting to meet the love of my life, hence I’m still single.

Are you a romantic?
Yes. The most romantic thing I’ve ever done is surprised my girlfriend at the time with a little puppy and a little red ribbon at work, then laid rose petals at home and cooked her a dinner when she was doing it pretty tough.

Describe your dream date.
Apart from taking a private jet to Paris for a weekend, I would say an evening boat ferry ride down the Brisbane River with some drinks and then stopping at one of my favourite restaurants. Some great food and wine then maybe some dessert and some post-dinner drinks with good music.
