Lisa Wilkinson pays tribute to Rebecka Delforce + VIDEO 'Australian Story'

What a story, what a tribute.

Lisa Wilkinson has paid tribute to her co-worker and friend Rebecka Delforce, who died last week.

Lisa hired Rebecka at Cleo magazine in the 1990s.

Rebecka's funeral was yesterday and today Lisa wrote an incredible tribute. Titled 'A Little Bit of Perspective About What's Really Important', and subtitled: 'Let me tell you the story of Rebecka Delforce.'

Rebecka's partner Darren Stratti died nine years ago, in tragic circumstances.

Rebecka Delforce and Darren Stratti were primary school sweethearts. Life took them on different paths but when they met again as adults, they knew that they were meant to be together. Darren Stratti talked about 'falling in love twice' - once with Rebecka and again with her dream to build a children's village in Africa. In 2007, after four years of planning and fundraising, the couple moved to Tanzania to start putting up the buildings. But within a year, tragedy struck in an event that became headline news back home in Australia.

But there was no need to pity this busy bride, whose apron would soon be traded for Dior Haute Couture. We think Miranda looks divine!

This is the second wedding for Miranda, and the first for Evan, who is the founder of Snapchat. Miranda has a son named Flynn with her ex-husband, actor Orlando Bloom.

Miranda is 34, and Evan, 26, and they became engaged last July and got married two month ago, in late May in a small ceremony in the garden of their $16 million Brentwood mansion.

There was no bridal party except Miranda's six-year-old son, who was a ring-bearer.

Miranda sang 'You’re Still The One', a hit recorded by Shania Twain, in footage obtained by gossip and news site TMZ. 

The couple has a personal combined value of more than $6.7 billion. They met in 2014 at a New York dinner party and started dating a year later.

Ruby Rose has confirmed she is back together with former girlfriend Jess Origliasso - eight years after their romance the first time around. Look at these 'vintage' pics:

On Monday, Jess told Nova FM's Kent 'Smallzy' Small they fell back in love while filming a music video for the new Veronicas song, 'On Your Side' - in which Ruby stars.

"We have been friends for eight years. A really long time and it was just honestly the craziest thing", she said.

"We just reconnected over doing this video, she wrote and directed it, and is in it with us and we just sort of fell in love."

And in an exclusive interview with the Herald Sun:

“It’s a little confronting,“ Jess Origliasso said. “Ruby and I laugh about how people will be seeing us (falling back in love) in real time, now immortalised forever in this video.

“But she’s incredible. I’m so proud to be with a woman I not only adore but I respect and admire highly. She is the kindest, most ambitious, most compassionate woman.”

Mariah Carey and James Packer Break Up

With news overnight that Mariah Carey, 46, and James Packer, 49 are no longer a couple and the engagement is well and truly over, stories have just emerged on what actually caused the break up. (Photo: Getty)

Mariah's 'people' have broken their silence as speculation swirls around her 'reported' split from James Packer, the Australian billionaire casino mogul.

In a statement from Carey’s camp read out on Sunrise today, it was confirmed that their relationship was on the rocks after the couple had a fight in Greece.

“Mariah Carey and James Packer had a fight in Greece. They have not seen each other since,” the statement read.

As news articles including this one now say that 'Mariah Carey ''Developed a Close Relationship'' With Dancer Amid Problems With James Packer', and reports in TMZ that Carey had cheated on Packer with a dancer, and that Packer was unhappy with her excessive spending, the statement confirmed the fight was not caused by either of these allegations.

“The fight was not because of cheating allegations or excessive spending by Mariah. James is one of the most successful businessmen in the world,” it read.

It was also confirmed that the couple were trying to reconcile their differences,

“They are trying to work it out but right now they are not sure if they will stay together. They are discussing it and plan to release a statement about their future,” the statement read.

According to TMZ, a source linked to Mariah claimed James did “something really bad” involving her assistant on a luxury yacht - and this led to Mariah leaving and heading back to Los Angeles.

In the abovementioned article from eonline.com, it says:

It seems as though Mariah Carey has found comfort in other arms during a difficult time in her life.

E! News has learned that the world-renowned singer became close with one of her dancers amid problems with James Packer. A source tells E! News exclusively, "James was not in the right mind for months. Mariah was in essence an abandoned woman." 
 
The insider adds that it was during this time that Carey began building a bond with her dancer. "While in Vegas, she turned to and developed a close relationship with Brian Tanaka."

Following news that Carey and Packer decided to call off their engagement, E! News learned from another source close to the pair that Packer's behavior played a role in Carey's decision to part ways.

"James is not in a mentally healthy place right now and he has not been present for her," the insider tells E! News exclusively. "Unfortunately, his absence and behavior was not a good situation for her, so she had to leave him."

A rep for Packer tells E! News, "This is simply untrue."

Sylvia Jeffreys and Peter Stefanovic are engaged! And... it happened a few weeks ago, but they only announced it this morning.

They each posted photos on their Instagram pages earlier today:

Sylvia is the 'Today' newsreader and Peter is a fellow journalist and co-host on 'Weekend Today', and have been together for over two years.

"Asked my missus to be my wife and she said yes," Peter, who is the younger brother of Today show host Karl, said on Instagram.

Said Sylvia, 30, on her Instagram account:

"A couple of weeks ago Pete popped the question, and I said yes, OF COURSE!!!" Jeffreys wrote. "We've had the most wonderful time celebrating with great mates. We couldn't be happier."

The development of their relationship has been lovely to watch; they started dating in early 2014, when Peter was Channel Nine's Europe correspondent.

They confirmed their relationship in June 2014, after months of speculation.

The pair kept in touch when they worked together on the Today show over the 2013 Christmas break. (I recall seeing them together on set, on my telly, and thinking: they'd make a cute couple).

Peter, 33, has been back in Australia from his foreign correspondent assignment since 2015; in an interview with Fairfax Media, Sylvia firmly ruled out the possibility of the couple taking on a permanent joint hosting gig in the future.

Speaking to Fairfax Media in November last year, Sylvia said that sharing a desk again with Peter would be "too difficult".

"We had a good time before we were together, but I'm not really sure if it's a good idea now."

Says E! News, in a report just in:

E! News has confirmed through multiple sources that Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris (real name Adam Wiles) have broken up after dating for almost a year and a half. "This all happened last week," a source tells us.

"Taylor and Adam had no big blowout fight, but the romance just was not there anymore for them. Adam is the one that ended it. It was all done in a very mature fashion. Taylor is pretty upset but they are still in communication. Taylor was there for Adam with his accident and supportive."

The duo's breakup comes shortly after the music producer suffered from a car accident, causing him to cancel a few shows. "Adam is still recovering from the injuries sustained in the car accident last Friday. Unfortunately, as a result he will not be able to perform in Las Vegas at Hakkasan tonight, 5/26 and Omnia tomorrow, 5/27," his team explained last week.

'The Notebook' TV Series In The Works

Yes, from 'The Notebook'.

Get ready to cry in front of the TV screen all over again.

The CW network in the US have announced they are developing a series based on Nicholas Sparks’ bestselling 1996 novel, and the 2004 hit film, 'The Notebook', which starred Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams.

“This series will follow the romantic journey of the two beloved central characters Noah and Allie, at the outset of their blossoming relationship as they build their lives and their future together against the backdrop of the racial politics, economic inequities, and social mores of post-World War II of the late 1940s in North Carolina.”

If given the go ahead, Sparks will serve as executive producer on the project.

But… No word yet on whether Ryan and Rachel will be involved…

Bill Rancic Love Letter to Giuliana: ''My Wife Is the Definition of the American Dream''

This is so, SO beautiful.

To celebrate his wife Giuliana Rancic's last day at her role as co-anchor of E! News, Bill Rancic penned a beautiful love letter to his wife. Gosh, what a guy!

The couple, who have been married for several years, have chronicled their life on the reality TV show 'Giuliana & Bill', and subsequently have been very open about their struggles with fertility (they have since had a beautiful son Duke, who is now age 2), are the modern day version of a loved up and very successful couple, who always have each others' back.

He says in the letter:

"People don't give Giuliana enough credit, she's got a master's degree in journalism, she's brilliant and just gets it," the doting hubby writes in the post titled "Giuliana: Why I'm So Proud." "The rest is history. From that point on, she took control and turned things around. That's what the greats do. They don't hesitate, they just know, it's incredible." 

Under the heading, 'The Real Giuliana', he says:

A month after we started dating, I was hooked. I got her to come to Chicago and we took a motorcycle ride, but got caught in the rain 30 miles from my house. We were soaking wet, it was an absolute downpour. We parked in some strip mall and I said, “Let’s go in and let’s buy some towels.” She goes, “No, let’s just borrow them.”

We dried off in the store and put the towels back. I understand I’ll probably be getting a bill from Crate & Barrel after telling that story, but it’ll be worth every penny and more, even with interest. I think anyone reading this who’s in love can relate that it was just a moment that was so romantic, funny, and most of all, real!

I said to myself, “Damn, she’s frugal too, a woman after my own heart!” It’s the kind of story that you only see in movies, but I’m telling you, I thought right then and there, “I’m in love.”

Looking back, it was only a special moment because it was with her. That’s love, the person makes the moment, not the other way around.

Giuliana, 40, and her entrepreneur husband Bill, 44 (he won the very first 'The Apprentice' on US TV), also received praise from her husband on how she has used her public platform and her personal struggles to help others. That, she has done. Read more about that here.
