Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg, Priscilla Chan pledge $4 billion to fight disease

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and his pediatrician wife Priscilla Chan have today pledged $4 billion to fight all disease, through the couple's philanthropic group.

Last year, they said they would give 99 per cent of their Facebook shares to charitable causes - and today, well... they started to put their money where their mouth is.

Called the 'Chan Zuckerberg Initiative', the limited liability corporation means Zuckerberg and Chan will put their Facebook shares over the next decade toward preventing, curing or managing all diseases by the end of the century.

The goal is to "work together to cure, prevent or manage all disease within our children's lifetime," Dr. Chan said during the event in San Francisco for the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative.

Dr. Chan spoke through tears as she recalled telling parents their child had an incurable disease or could not be revived. These experiences, she said, made her even more determined to work with scientists and engineers to build new tools that can save lives by the end of the century.

Zuckerberg, who took the stage after his wife's speech, said he and Chan want to "make a better future for our children."

Chelsea Handler on Angelina Jolie: "A fucking lunatic"

Chelsea Handler and Jennifer Aniston are best friends.



Chelsea is renowned for not mincing words.

When the Jen/Brad Pitt breakup first happened, Chelsea went to town on sticking up for her friend. You can read that HERE.

At the time, she has said about Angelina Jolie:

"She can rescue as many babies from as many countries as she wants to [but] I don't f--king believe you."

And:

"She gives interviews, 'I don't have a lot of female friends.' Cause you're a f--king c--t, that's why."

And now... yup. Chelsea ain't holding back.

On Chelsea's Netflix show called 'Chelsea', she said:

“Brad and Angelina always said they wouldn’t get married until everyone could get married,” she started. “And I always said I wouldn’t get married until they got divorced, so I’m officially accepting proposals. I’m ready.”

And then:

“There are rumours that part of the problem was that Brad was allegedly drinking and smoking too much weed. I wonder why he would need to self-medicate."

“Maybe because he could have been spending the last 12 years at Lake Como hanging out with George Clooney and Matt Damon, instead of being stuck in a house with 85 kids speaking 15 different languages.

“Oh yeah, because he married a f*cking lunatic, that’s why.”

She adds:

Marion Cotillard Dispels Rumours, Announces Pregnancy: Statement

Following on from the news - read the announcement HERE - that the Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie is over, French actress Marion Cotillard, who is married to French actor / director Guillaume Canet, found herself at the centre of the media storm, and has had to repond to rumours she has had an affair with her current co-star Brad.

Sources (it's always the 'sources') had told sites like Page Six that a private investigator had confirmed that Brad was having an affair with Marion while they filmed their upcoming film 'Allied'.

Today, she refuted the affair claims... with class.

She also announced she is pregnant with her second child with Guillaume; they already have a five year-old son named Marcel.

The actress also sent well wishes to both Jolie and Pitt during "this tumultuous moment":

"This is going to be my first and only reaction to the whirlwind news that broke 24 hours ago and that I was swept up into. 

I am not used to commenting on things like this nor taking them seriously but as this situation is spiraling and affecting people I love, I have to speak up. 

Firstly, many years ago, I met the man of my life, father of our son and of the baby we are expecting. He is my love, my best friend, the only one that I need. 

Secondly to those who have indicated that I am devastated, I am very well thank you. This crafted conversation isn't distressing. And to all the media and the haters who are quick to pass judgment, I sincerely wish you a swift recovery. 

Finally, I do very much wish that Angelina and Brad, both whom I deeply respect, will find peace in this very tumultuous moment. 

With all my love, Marion."

She then translated the message into French.

New York Post cover: Jennifer Aniston on 'Brangelina'

The new cover for the 'New York Post' has just landed and... oh wow.

The US newspaper has pulled no punches when it comes to their just released cover... Jennifer Aniston in an old photo 'laughing' at the demise of 'Brangelina' aka her ex husband Brad Pitt and his wife Angelina Jolie, following Angelina's decision to divorce Brad. Read more about that HERE.

In the accompanying article, it says:

Jennifer Aniston knew it was just a matter of time, pals told The Post on Tuesday.

While the showbiz world was shocked by the news of her former hubby Brad Pitt’s split from Angelina Jolie, “Jennifer always knew that this day would come,” said a source close to the “Friends’’ star.

“Everyone in Jennifer’s inner circle regards Angelina as a crazy master manipulator,” the source said. “But we all presumed the end of their affair would be Angelina leaving Brad for someone else.”

The source added that Aniston isn’t gloating about her ex’s divorce, even though Jolie allegedly stole him away from her while she and Pitt were still married.

“Jen still cares about Brad and wishes him well,” the source said. “She has moved on and is really happy with [hubby] Justin Theroux.”

'Allied': Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard TRAILER

How's that for timing?

The new Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard film called 'Allied' has just dropped on the same day as Angelina Jolie's divorce announcement. You know, THAT one. Oh, you missed it? Read more HERE.

Anyways, the new Pitt/Cotillard movie is about an intelligence officer Max Vatan (Pitt), who encounters French Resistance fighter Marianne Beausejour (Cotillard) on a deadly mission behind enemy lines in North Africa, in 1942.

They're then reunited in London and, well... here is the trailer folks:

With tabloids reporting unsubstantiated claims that Brad and Marion had something happening off set as well as on, the timing of this trailer release is rather clever, don't you think..?

These reports that Angelina's breaking point was a private eye uncovering Pitt allegedly having an affair with Cotillard in real life. 

"She hired a private eye because she felt that he was fooling around with her on the set, and it turns out, he was. And that was the final straw," a source said.

If you think history is repeating itself... this:

In 2005 Angelina was accused of being the catalyst in the much talked about breakup of Brad with his then wife Jennifer Aniston. 

Ange and Brad were accused of having an affair during filming of 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith'. In 2006, Angelina and Brad confirmed they were in a serious relationship, and got married in 2014.

The Page Six reports (link above) says:

“She hired a private eye because she felt that he was fooling around with her on the set, and it turns out, he was. And that was the final straw,’’ the source said.

Pitt, 52, had been rumored to have been cozying up to his “Allied’’ co-star Marion Cotillard, 40, for months during the pair’s filming of the World War II drama in London.

The PI discovered that Pitt was cheating on his wife of two years with Cotillard — while also partying like a single guy on a mission, the source said.

“The atmosphere [off-set] was full of hard drugs and Russian hookers, and Angie was told Brad got caught up in it,’’ the source said.

“He’s in the throes of some insane midlife crisis, and Angie is fed up.”

But a source close to Cotillard denied the Pitt affair rumors and insisted she is still with her long-term partner, French actor and director Guillaume Canet.

“They are still very much together. They have been a couple since 2007 and have one child but have never married,’’ the source said of Cotillard and Canet.

The source could not confirm French reports that Cotillard is pregnant with her second child with Canet.
