How's that for timing?
Delta Goodrem is the cover star of the May 2011 issue of Good Health magazine - but she was still (kinda) happily ensconced with Brian McFadden at the time the mag was printed, listing him as one of her 'favourite things.'
No matter - she has far more important things to talk about, namely her health and her upcoming album.
Here are some excerpts from the interview. The magazine is on-sale now.
I have a holistic approach to living and my health. Being diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma had a huge impact on my life and on my loved ones. It was a deeply private yet public battle. It forever changed me and, having survived, I feel it is my responsibility to live my life to the full and to give others hope. It also gave me a new power to keep balance in my life and body.
Following my cancer treatment, eight years ago, and in the years of healing since, I’ve become very aware of nutritious foods and how to maintain good health. I don’t smoke at all, nor do I drink regularly or in any large quantity. If my diet isn’t great for a few days, then I am quick to re-establish good foods, plenty of water and exercise. I also have regular health check-ups.
My total focus is my new album. I’ve been working hard in LA on my new album, and this year is all about my music. It gives me so much joy being a singer/songwriter and I look forward to being in Australia with new music this year.
