Samantha Jade - the Australian singer who won X-Factor Australia in 2012 - has released a statement following the death of her mother, who lost her battle with brain cancer on the weekend.
In her statement, Samantha spoke of her mother's grace and strength.
“Our beautiful mother Jacqueline Deans Gibbs passed away peacefully with family by her side,” she said in the statement.
“She fought til the very end with the strength and grace by which she lived her life and will be deeply missed.
“We appreciate your kind words, prayers, and respect for our family during this very difficult time.”
The beautiful and talented singer moved back to Perth to help care for her mother earlier in the year. Jacquie Gibbs died on June 8 surrounded by family. She was only diagnosed in February this year.
