Rachel Zoe, stylist to the A-listers and reality show star (The Rachel Zoe Project), and vintage fashion aficionado is also seven months pregnant and has her very first fashion line to launch - so she launched it online.
Zoe's collection has already been picked up by several major retailers in the US and is about to sign with two UK stores - details of which are yet to be released. The line is already receiving rave reviews for its beautifully tailored 70s-inspired trouser suits, and faux fur ( a Zoe staple, although she usually goes for the real thing - vintage, of course) touches.
The collection launches in US stores for Autumn 2011 and, judging by the hype, looks to be an instant sell-out: Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, and Intermix are all from buying up the line. Here (courtesy of Style.com) are some fab photos of the line. Divine. The faux fur bomber jacket and vest are gorgeous; the slim jeans and skinny black slacks - I want them!
Last month, the presentation of these pics to media stirred up some 'controversy' when it was revealed via Twitter that one of her new autumn range dresses is almost identical to a vintage dress she styled in a Teen Vogue editorial several years ago.
"I've been subconsciously building this collection in my mind for a long time," Rachel said in reply to Style.com, "There are a million vintage pieces that have inspired me, and every other designer in the world."
The 'Resort 2012' collection is already wrapped up and she's hard at work on the spring line - when she isn't prepping what Anne Hathaway will wear when she takes the stage as co-host of this year's Oscars. But it won't be something from the Rachel Zoe line. "If you're gonna use couture, it should be at the Academy Awards."
