Justin Bieber has just appeared on the latest issue of US Rolling Stone magazine - shot by famed photog Terry Richardson - and has caused quite the stir.
No, not about that new hairstyle (he can't flick that little number), but about some answers he gave when asked about these topics:
On sex: “I don’t think you should have sex with anyone unless you love them . . . I think you should just wait for the person you’re . . . in love with.”
On his love for Canada: “I’ll never be an American citizen. You guys are evil. Canada’s the best country in the world. We go to the doctor, and we don’t need to worry about paying him, but here, your whole life, you’re broke because of medical bills.”
On his success: “I don’t think about it. My attitude is, why ask questions when things are going so well? Ain’t no questions that should be asked in this situation! [My fans] love me, and that’s it!”
On abortion: “I really don’t believe in abortion. It’s like killing a baby?”
On abortion in cases of rape: "Um. Well, I think that's really sad, but everything happens for a reason. I guess I haven't been in that position, so I wouldn't be able to judge that."
And boy, did he get 'crucified' for that last quote. So much so, Rollingstone.com printed a correction on its site stating: "Due to an editing error, this story originally included an incomplete quote from Justin Bieber. The full quote, his response to whether abortions should be allowed in cases of rape, reads: "Um. Well, I think that's really sad, but everything happens for a reason. I don't know how that would be a reason. I guess I haven't been in that position, so I wouldn't be able to judge that."
That one little sentence - missing from the original copy - alters the meaning of what Bieber said. The new clause just proves that yes, 16 year old Bieber answers as a 16 year old would...
And, well... sub-editing correctly is kinda crucial.
