The fabulous FitFlop has got to be the most comfy, versatile, stylish (and not to mention, centimetre-adding!) footwear I have worn. Ever.
I received a pair of the cute, bright, floral-inspired 'Frou' sandal ($179.95) - with delicate layers of folded suede ruffles - to roadtest, and for most of summer (I say most, because our Aussie summer this year has been a mix of cold snaps, rain, and a smattering of sunshine) and loved rocking them with long pants, maxi skirts, and any colour denim. And I plan to keep wearing them... until the weather dictates I simply must wear socks.
FitFlops have just announced the release of
two new lovely styles for women.
Straight
from the SS12 overseas catalogue, these two styles can be worn throughout the balmy autumn and winter days, until Spring and Summer grace us again.
· They are the FitFlop
Lunetta sandal ($149.95) - embellished
with sparkling resin stones set on a buttery soft leather upper. Pretty to team this style with jeans, shorts or a skirt. Available in two colours pewter and pale bronze, in sizes US 5 –
11.
· And the FitFlop
Fleur ($179.95) - a fabulous fifties-styled sandal with daisy
flowers all over a leather 'vamp', with a super-soft toe-post on a
shock-absorbing wedge. Available in three
colours: pewter, pale bronze and black, in sizes US 5-11.
All FitFlops feature the biomechanically engineered Microwobbleboard™ technology - each
sandal has been ergonomically designed, can reduce underfoot pressure, and
reduce shock when you walk. The press kit says: "It’s also been reported to induce an inexplicable ‘happy
FitFlop feeling’. You’ll exude confidence, style and feel like you rule the
world when you walk in these shoes."
I gotta say... I very much agree.
Not only am I centrimetres taller (very useful for a shortie like me), it adds a l'il skip to my step when I wear them. Bonus!
And now, the stats: case studies
conducted by biomechanists at the Human Performance Centre, London South Bank
University, show that wearing FitFlop footwear can increase bottom muscle
activation (up to 30% longer), increase hamstring muscle activation (up to 16%
longer), reduce hip joint stress (up to 8% longer) and reduce ankle joint force
(up to 11%).
FitFlop footwear was launched in Spring 2007
after a collaboration between biomechanists Dr David Cook and Darren James (of
London South Bank University) and Marcia Kilgore (businesswoman and busy mum)
to create the world’s first muscle-activating flip flop. Over twelve million pairs
have been sold since.
