It's a kinda kooky world first: ASOS is letting customers declare their eternal love for fashion at the ASOS Wedding Chapel at Vogue Fashion’s Night Out #ASOSwedding - tonight!
As the hugely popular 'Vogue Fashion’s Night Out' hits Sydney on Thursday 5 September from 5 - 9pm - before other major fashion capitals around the globe - ASOS is set to deliver a fun experience.
Shoppers will see the ASOS Wedding Chapel in Martin Place, a global first for the huge brand. The neon signage you'd see in Vegas will be in Sydney, and the game is simple: visit the ASOS Celebrant to 'marry' your must-have piece from ASOS on the night to get it for free!
And if you are not in Sydney you can still declare your undying love for fashion for the opportunity to win a dream honeymoon to Bali at www.facebook.com/ASOS.
The hottest styles from the current ASOS collection will be showcased as the wedding ceremonies run continuously throughout the evening. After walking down the aisle, participants marry their chosen item from the current ASOS collection, which will be shipped straight to their door, in a genuine ASOS experience. Plus, every ‘precious’ moment will be captured by the ASOS wedding photographer. Onlookers can participate as wedding guests, and if they 'like' the ASOS Wedding Chapel pinned post on Facebook, they will receive a goodie bag instantly.
At home? You can still prove your love for fashion in a virtual Wedding Chapel on the ASOS Facebook page. People will be able to marry their favourite ASOS fashion item from Thursday 5th September 2013. Newlyweds will then go into the draw to win a Bali 'honeymoon' and will be encouraged to update their relationship status to MARRIED. A very clever social media marketing campaign.
Shoppers will be able to choose their ‘marriage material’ from a rail of the hottest new season picks from the spring/ summer collections for Australia.
ASOS is a wildly successful brand - it has been selling to Australians since 2009 and launched a local Australian site two years ago. It now sells a fashion item every six seconds and delivers - gasp - four jumbo jets of clothing every week.
So, the steps to activation:
- The 'chapel' will be open from 5pm – 9pm.
- There will be a selection of clothing on-site to choose from for those who want to 'wed' their item.
- That person will then get their selected item posted to them. Only those who physically make it down to the chapel will receive a free item.
- For those who are unable to make it on the night, they can still participate in a ceremony via the Facebook app, however they will not receive the free item. Instead, they will go in a draw to win a "honeymoon" at a resort in Bali.
Visit the ASOS Wedding Chapel at the top of Martin Place near Elizabeth St from 5 - 9pm on Thursday 5 September 2013 and ‘like’ ASOS on Facebook at www.facebook.com/ASOS.
