Tom Ford edits Vogue Paris December 2010 issue
What's wrong with this cover?
Look closely.
If you're Tom Ford, not a single thing. Why, it's sheer perfection.
And well it should be. The fashion designer and cosmetics tsar edited this baby.
And inside, the edition features the fairy godmother of all gap-tooth models, Lauren Hutton.
Ford, 49, was chosen by editor Carine Roitfeld to oversee the December issue and he chose... 15-year-old Daphne Groenveld to pose with him on the cover.
Many will be up in arms, no doubt.
In the photos, Groenveld looks far older, and is styled like an early 1980s Jerry Hall, with very dark, smoky eyes and deep, deep ruby red lips.
According to Women's Wear Daily, Roitfeld said the designer loves beautiful older women, the kind that age gracefully, without plastic surgery. Ironic, no?
"He loves beautiful wrinkles," the New York Daily News quoted Roitfeld as saying.
There won't be a single one of those on this youngster. Still... A stunning cover.
