Criniti's Breakfast: REVIEW

What a treat to go out for breakfast.

I know that it's the most important meal of the day, I know you start off right and keep going all day when your belly is full, your body satiated.

But… breakfast is the one meal I rush. Or… skip (rarely, please don't lecture me!).

And so, being invited to come sample Criniti's breakfast was a real treat. I would take my whole family, and sit down and actually enjoy slowing down, filling my tummy, and setting the tone for the day. And that's what Josie's Juice did.

We dined at the glorious Woolloomooloo Criniti's with waterside views and a calming, lovely ambience with a huge side of sunshine - and it made the whole experience one I want to repeat very soon, and have not stopped raving with others about it all.

Here are some pro shots from the range of brekkies, with some pics of my meal further down:

I know, you're salivating.

Yep: imagine starting your day with a double stack ricotta pancakes topped with honey, chocolate chips and pistachio? Or the 'Ciccio Brekkie Burger' which adds smashed avocado, cheese, lettuce and tomato relish to the classic bacon and egg combination. For those who like to spice up their breakfast, the fried eggs with braised pork ribs in sugo di pomodoro and chilli will get you fired up for a big day. I know, you're salivating again. Me too.

There are also paleo friendly options and deliciously fruity Bircher muesli for the health conscious. And for those who love their meat, the breakfast platter is a breakfast lover’s heaven – made for sharing! Josie's Juice had a delicious Italian breakfast and you can see pics of that below (warning: you will experience breakfast envy).

Kicking off only a few weeks ago, all six Criniti’s locations (Sydney: in Woolloomooloo, Manly, Darling Harbour, Castle Hill, Parramatta, and now Carlton, VIC) are now dishing up breakfast daily from 8am – midday with some of the most popular breakfast items available all day. ALL DAY. (Yes, I just shouted the last bit - the brekkie selections are so good

And now, the Josie's Juice Criniti's breakfast photos, below. (We MUST go back and work our way through the rest of that menu. Delizioso!)

We had two adults and two kids in tow for our Criniti's brekkie and I've got to say, I was a tad nervous to have at least one, maybe two fussy eaters (one child, one adult).

The team at Criniti's were utterly receptive to whatever we wanted.

Pancakes with all the toppings on the side (maple syrup, butter and vanilla bean gelato with chantilly crème) for a mini pancake aficionado - no problem!

Special mention must go to chantilly crème, again. This was pure heaven, the perfect companion for fluffy pancakes, and something I may have eaten solo by dipping my spoon in…

A burger on the breakfast menu? Easy! They have a few options (this one, the 'bella' burger' - with fried egg, sausage, bacon, porchetta, tomato relish and chilli aioli, with hot chips) is the perfect feed-the-man-meat kinda breakfast burger to kick off the day, or the perfect hangover burger. Oh yes.

The italiano breakfast board (eggs your way with bacon, porchetta, wood fired tomato, italian house sausage, prosciutto, mortadella, salame, provolone, crumbed eggplant and italian toasted bread, with chilli optional) is heaven. An Italian antipasto - for breakfast. This was my breakfast, and I was so pleased with my choice: that porchetta, that prosciutto, that sausage, that bread. I could not finish it.

See? The aftermath:

Can we have a close up of that bacon?

The delicious detox smoothie:

The strawberry milkshake and that smoothie:

My coffee, an essential part of my brekkie is my caffeine hit:

The decor is a BIG part of the appeal of Criniti's - with its Southern Italian heritage, it's an Italophile's dream dining venue outside of Italy, seriously (all these shots from upstairs):

And so, all in all, the all new Criniti's breakfast is highly recommended. It's the kind of place you'd go to truly impress a date you're taking out for a morning bite, the perfect place for a morning meeting, a great spot to grab a solo spot of brekkie, a perfect place to linger on a weekday morning off or long weekend breakfast.

The portions are very generous, the prices very reasonable (those big fluffy pancakes with all those sides… $11!), and the only 'problem' is that it'll become your 'local' for your morning feed. Then you might be enamoured with the morning menu, and perhaps forgo the dinner one (highly unlikely, though… these guys at Criniti's know what they are doing, and you will be back for a nighttime or lunchtime feed).
