Post stiletto solution. Love: 'Fabz'

Ah 'Fabz'... where were you last weekend when I took my new PeepToe shoes for a spin?

I actually packed a pair of ballet flats in my bag in case of sore tootsies (well, shoved them in, more like) but these little babies come folded and then, voila! When your tired feet can no longer hack it, slip on these and you can still look respectable... and pretty darn fashionable.

Please, fellow women: don't take your stilettos off after a big day at spring racing carnivals... it basically screams 'bogan'. Pop a pair of these in your bag and avoid the walk of shame.

Fabz are an Australian designed collection of quality leather foldable flats. Perfect for the commute to work, the tail end of a big night, travelling and everyday wear, Fabz are packaged in a pouch that fits neatly into handbags, unfolding into a light yet durable pair of flatties.

They have over 30 styles and an array of colours to choose from - the black patent numbers are my fave - and the whole collection is made of soft leather, featuring a padded heel for comfort and non slip rubber soles for added stability.

Created by footwear designer, Loretta Ashby and her partner, Ed Kirchschlager, Fabz offer the most extensive collection of foldable flats. Noticing the limited range of foldable flats available at the time, Ashby began designing Fabz in 2009, with a view to make foldable fashionable. “I wanted to create a shoe that was available in a variety of designs and colours that combined comfort and style for the modern woman,” she says.

This is not the first time Ashby has ventured into the fashion world, having worked in the industry for over two decades, “I began my career as a dressmaker trainee at the age of 17 and never looked back,” she says. Ashby has extensive experience in all facets of the fashion industry, from design to despatch, and says she loves designing her own range of footwear. “I enjoy designing creative but practical footwear for busy women like myself."

Fabz are available in Australian sizes 5 – 10, with selected styles in a size 12. Prices start from $79.95 RRP.

You can buy Fabz online and from a range of stockists throughout Australia.
